Very true,... if I had received such an E-mail, unsolicited, from a party not known to me, I can fairly honestly state that I would not have transmitted that information publically until I had AT LEAST done some significant checking in on the source, and/or the veracity of the information provided by that source.

The only source I had for this information was via this message board and via that set of messages. Any good journalist (and admittedly there are very few of them around any more) doesn't run a story until he/she gets a second-source verification of his/her scoop.

You keep calling it a crime. Here are the facts as you have provided them:
1. Someone sent YOU a private email.

That's not a crime.


Whatever else may have happened was at your own hand and of your own volition.



Admittedly - I am not well versed enough in the intricacies of SEC and Securities law to make a definitive judgment on where fault might really lie here and what might be the consequences. But it seems that the source of this information getting out (false or otherwise) had a willing accomplice.
