A halt---in my mind---is a suspension. Regardless of the word employed, it means exactly the same thing. You're factoring in a temporal value whereas I'm not. The question arose out of concern for the absence of trading altogether as evidenced by brokerage information. Whether it was/is to be of a lasting nature or not was not part of the discussion, to the best of my knowledge.

I just now Googled the word "halt." I got both "stop" and "suspend."

I should have done this earlier, perhaps, although nothing changes. As for a temporal value attached, none shows up. Halts and suspensions are identical, apparently, in the millions of eyes belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Google. lol
