This is an interesting version of last week's IBM supercomputer news. It sheds a little more light on CAPI. I am not posting this to imply any direct connection to Lightwave Logic. I am just trying to understand more about how these accelerators and "big pipes" work.

One of the benefits of CAPI is that it makes it possible for acceleration engines to be connected to the POWER8 processor. Systems built using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FGPA) are designed to offer high-speed I/O, much faster than traditional system bus I/O. With two empty core sockets on each POWER8 processor available for CAPI enabled hardware to use, any CAPI-capable FPGA will appear as it is part of the CPU which speeds up data processing and throughput.
