Phat it is doable at a reasonable cost. Advances in mining engineering are huge. We can traverse through pretty much everything (we dig coal mines under the seabed; we dig big tunnels under mountains, sea etc). I posted a link to Omineca Mining's Wingdam underground gold placer property a while ago http://www.ominecamining.com/projects/wingdam/ That's difficult work because when you break into the (unconsolidated )channel thousands of tons of mud, sand and water rush into your gallery drowning you. But even that is doable thru freezing of the ground.

Bad ground in a raise could be overcome by Alimak raising a standard method - safe and effective http://www.manroc.com/article/alimak-raising-115.asp You work on a platform in a cage and you are protected so you can easily take care of/support the walls.

But there are so many good methods of supporting/stabilizing the bad ground before advancing into it. I might detail that in the future. Anyways a good mining engineer would know what to do.

Call the Colorado School of Mines to recommend you someone - consultants and raising companies.

I am not saying that Ruby miners weren't good. They were but I think they were not specialized in building raises. When you feel a pain in the ass you go to the proctologist :) And right now it is about time to do that. Go to the specialist not to the generalist. Or manager.

I am 100% sure that it would be done in the spring (now that hard lessons had been learned by everybody). Don't forget that the CEO has not only skin into the game (as it is recommended to invest in cos where management owns a few %) but his shirt and some meat off the bone as well in this company. He wants to make it succeed. He will change management, mining method, the prospecting effort and they will succeed imo.

They would sell or option another property and would probably start mining the Fraser before Ruby imo.
