Orefinder, you have mining experience and you've made some interesting posts, but I'm curious as to what your take may be on my inexperienced observations. Best and his mining crew seemed to know quite well how these placer deposits worked and since they successfully mined the North Terrace it seems somewhat counterintuitive to me that he didn't know the South Terrace was also there, yet he didn't mine it. I'm wondering if the reason why he didn't mine it is because maybe he tried, but ran into the same sort of problem as our Ruby miners did while constructing the raise.
If my hypothesis is correct (no real way to know), what sorts of mining engineering has been developed since Best, and at what sort of cost can it be implemented in the Ruby, to access what seems to be an unstable area? TIA.
