FYI. Chagas was common where I worked in Argentina, in the mountains. The "kissing bug" is not small. It's about half an inch long and ugly.

It lives in stone and unplastered brick walls. It's called the kissing bug because they are attracted to exhaled air. It bites its' victims around the mouth and under the nose as they sleep.

We had an office girl that developed the disease while she worked for us. We were told it was a lingering, fatal disease. It never entered my mind that Chugas would come to America.



Our safety man went on Chugas expeditions and kept live ones in a jar on his desk.
