I would still bet people would be buying it as fast as it hits the shelves while still greatly undercutting the cost to produce the E.coli silk fibers.

One has to admit that when it comes to clothing (or items period) spider silk produced from a silkworm sounds more desirable than from E.coli bacteria....

An added bonus.
