That is how I have also interpreted it.

Ever since the statement from the October 27, 2013 article that stated:

Next month, Howland and Warwick Mills' 150 workers expect to get the first shipment of Monster Silk, but it could be years before the fibers can be woven into a marketable fabric.

"You have to acknowledge that you don't know how the fiber is going to behave," Howland said. "You have to let it teach you how to work with it, and that takes time."



The statement from Kim himself reinforced that from the Jun 25, 2014 article which stated:

Consumer clothing using a stronger silk could be available as soon as 2015, Thompson said.



Your correspondence reinforced this. I have independently confirmed this with Ben as well.

This makes it look as if Monster Silk will be on the shelf by late 2015 assuming everything goes as Kim plans it. Any bumps in the road or unforeseen events would likely set him into 2016, though. Hopefully that will not be the case.
