I don't do DD
So which is it? should they do research or not? "

first of all, i dont INVEST in penny stocks until they've proven themselves...and very very few ever have...secondly , i dont do the hodge podge of things many here do that they consider d/d...and i certainly dont d/d the cutting edge biotech science to the point where i fool myself into thinking i understand it completely...

so no , i dont do what many here consider d/d because i only trade this stock (tho not much lately)...but when i am interested enough in a stock to trade it, i do my normal research which involves examining the t/a and various fundamentals...

i do much more research when i invest...

" I have probably learned more about silkworms and gene manipulation in disproving the wild complaints here than I ever would have by just researching silk. "

if you fall in love with a company and search for reasons to disprove things, you will surely find them...whether they are real or even exist or not...

as to learning about gene manipulation via google... good luck with that...

"The list of "issues" and "competition" that are brought up here to use as examples of why failure is imminent are a great learning tool. "

i dont know if failure is imminent...but failure can drag on just as long as waiting for success...

one learns from everything... failures and successes...learning is constant...

"After all if I say 2+2=5 and you prove I am wrong you just learned how to add right? "

no... i already know how to add...some may be well beyond where others are only now getting too...
