VPLM originally had all 5 patents denied. Maybe microsoft thought they would never get the patent approved.

Why did Microsoft hire digifonica guys who worked on this patent?

After 5 years they give up on the patent shortly after vplm gets it approved.

You add everything up and it's pretty clear to me. It's just my opinion but I'm using factual info to make it.
