All About Entogenetics.
Relax Corsica, no one is going to eat KBLB's lunch.
Not Amsilk, not Spiber, and certainly not Entogenetics.
Entogenetics has been around for about 5 years, though it has almost died and been revived three times in that span.
Its leader is a professor Brigham from North Carolina state university.
It is not a public company and never will be because its purpose is to get more money from Government and similar sources to help support Dr. Brigham's department at the school.
They get a lot of low cost labor from students to build fancy web pages with nice graphics, but in terms of the science and hard product they have NOTHING.
Someone quoted Brigham as saying that he could not take Entogenetics public because of Oxley-Sarbanes.
Look it up!
Okley-Sarbanes is the law that makes a CEO personally responsible for the accuracy of statements put forth by his company, so that he could be criminally charged and put in jail for lying.
Lying is what Entogenetics is all about, and they do not even lie well.
Just exactly what is "100% pure spider silk" as made by a silkworm???
They were an early competitor of KBLB back before KBLB had its scientific breakthrough in 2010.
Entogenetics has never been able to make FUNCTIONAL stronger silk as KBLB acheived.
That is why when Sigma Aldrich looked at both companies years ago they decided to go with KBLB exclusively.
When Entogenetics lost that battle they effectively ceased to be a viable competitor.
But Brigham still needs funding for his academic research, so he keeps reviving it.
Almost all the publicity comes from articles in university press brochures and newsletters and a couple of local north Carolina newspapers.
He uses this to get army contracts he can't fulfill and then uses those to get other funding grants.
This college professor has never written a paper describing the properties of his stronger silk, because it isn't.
It is described as "smoother" and "shinier" and with other such unquantified adjectives.
