I understand your point and, in a theoretical world, wholehearteldy agree with your position.

However, in the real world not everyone sees things the same way. We are a very diverse nation; good governance requires we leadership to advance the public good by reaching agreement on issues. We cannot surrender our core principles; however both sides need to demonstrate some flexibility to get budgets passed on time, reduce the deficit, ensure a strong defense and provide for a vigorous homeland security infrastructure.
