The first point was more concerning the Jun 18, 2014 PR which states "“We have been working with various types of Monster Silk™,” stated Charles Howland, President of Warwick". If any of those types did not have the characteristics that would make a decent quality textile, Kim may have just discontinued its production.

The second point was concerning the PR you pointed out. There are 3 different types of silk that can be spooled from a silkworm cocoon: Reeled Silk, Spun Silk, and Noil/Raw Silk. (See http://www.thaisilkmagic.com/what-is-silk-yarn/ for a brief description of each). If Kim only wanted to use the highest quality "Reeled" silk as his textiles, but was unable to discern the difference between the different types until it was pointed out by the silk expert and seperated/reprocessed, then he may have overestimated the amount of silk that he wanted to use or is even able to use for the applications desired.
