I hadn't heard about the terrorists next door. I don't believe the VIDEO caused the Benghazi attack, but I do believe it was used by radical Islamists . Something that I've rarely seen mentioned is how the VIDEO did fit into the chaos on 9/11/2012.

The first record of it being publically shown in, the Muslim World, was on a Cairo TV station on 9/9/2012. It was shown on a program conducted by a Salafist radical.

One of the hardest things to come to grips with is how US military and intelligence could have been caught flat footed by attacks on the anniversary of 9/11/2001. As a minimum a Marine Helicopter Assault ship should have been positioned off Benghazi. It would have been within easy chopper distance from Benghazi, to Tripoli and Cairo.

There is a good chance that buried some where there are intelligence reports warning of attacks on that day.
