The numbers you are looking for are in the PNAS report.
The silk will have a range of strength and toughness etc. They will produce each batch in the same conditions and so the consistency will remain in that same range.
That range does not slip out suddenly or drastically.

You have to understand that this is something incorporated into the DNA. The silk will be the same throughout. The DNA isnt just going to vanish from the worm.

Diet can effect the silk in terms of length or color and luster but the strength says the same.
Most habitat changes in silkworms effect the worms maturing rate, egg count, worm size etc.
