That is an excellent article. It could have said more about Obama's War On America. I had read that managers of many coal fired plants delayed their planned closures until after the 2013 -2014 winter, just in case. The whole Country owes them for the wisdom they showed. The kind f wisdom Obama's Enviro Zealots simply don't possess.

The weak, the sick and the vulnerable will not survive even a regular winter without heating.

That is the understatement of the year! If large areas had experienced blackouts this past winter, dig out crews would have found whole families frozen to death huddled in their homes. Modern man is not equipped to survive for two or three days of below zero weather, with out heat.

The writer could have said more about the role NG is playing in the rationale for closing coal plants. We hear that NG is a cheaper fuel than coal, so electric rates may come down. Complete bullshit!

NG is cheap, today, because NG supply is running ahead of NG demand. Once we become dependent on NG generated electricity, that will change It could well become a "What ever the market will bear" situation.

I'm against exporting LNG because that will be another demand on domestic NG supplies. NG is in the $3 / thousand cu ft right now. Until fracking led to the explosion in NG supplies, it was in the $6-$7 range. That was when most of our electricity came from coal fired plants and ALL of our NG was used domestically. Add exporting LNG and NG prices WILL go crazy!

Another factor. It cost a lot of money to close and mediate existing coal fired plants. Who pays that cost? It costs even more to build new NG fired generating plants. Who pays for that? If you answered "We Do! to both questions, you get an A

You get an A+ if you recognize that Obama is a single minded radical trying t destroy America's economy.
