I wonder if there is some combination or synergy to be found between these two quite similar approaches?

You know - the combination provides an effect greater than either alone.

I don't know if they are mutually exclusive or would be better together.

NNVC provides an attractive target trap while the other masks the real target. With the distinct possibility that the masking polymer would contact, cover and kill the effect of the NNVC trapping target. Now wouldn't that just be the worst scenario! Net effect - the virus is still defeated by the masking approach with NNVC contributing nothing.

So much for the combination theory.
