Yup, no doubt what it is all about. Good luck.
I thought I was set with 21000 at.18/share and sold half of it between .71 & 1.25 /sh. Allowed me to get in other positions in the sector. So far so good. Right now I'm up 1145% on 9500sh. I'm definitely set on this one. ..now
I agree
Yup, that plausible deniability thing seems to be going around. I guess it works unless you tell a cohort that THAT is going to be your defense. And, he or she tells the world. Question: how do lawyers plan on plausibly denying that they know the law? And, the part that ignorance of the law does not create a defense, particularly for attorneys. jmo
Yes, this is why Walrath’s ruling was appealed. Just because she is a Judge does not give her unchecked power because if that was the case then there would be no need for Appeal Courts.[/i
Hard to argue with that.
Damn, I missed it, but then again my mom was only 6.
Thanks, and proud you should be. It doesn't get any bigger a deal than that.
Well, I was an airwinger so I wasn't sure if we were included in the "Once a Marine, Always a Marine" thing. I'm pretty sure there wasn't an air wing when that was first said. Anyway, happy Veterans Day to everyone who's a veteran!
uh oh, a wildman. lol
WMI releasing 2.1 billion common shareholders, you meant 1.2 billion releasing commons, right?
Happy birthday all you jarheads and former jarheads.
...that's 2.15/share wamuq, just for that that single class Cap trust? and that's conservative? wow!
..I'm keepin' my daytime job...I'm retired, but I wasn't when this all started.
...also the majority of the class period mostly was post WAMU BK. WAMU was only in business for the first 13 months of the period. I guess maybe JPM could have inherited it in the theft. jmo
Why not? It doesn't really have anything to do with our escrow markers. It's a separate and distinct action financed by unwilling settling parties. Unwilling, in the sense they are willing to pay the aggrieved parties rather than pay those same parties more after a trial, which would have cost far more. Similar to what PIERS did here. They didn't want to defend their crooked actions in court. If they had, in both cases, thought they had a winning case, they wouldn't have settled in either. Also, the LIBOR action called out the settling banks and WAMU wasn't one of them. Yeah, I know it's a different set of "theys".jmo
Wow, everyone seems to agree on that and I thought it was done and gone. Awesome
thanks LG, I'll pass that info on to her.
Yeah, my 11 year old granddaughter gave me money to invest for her...she's now 21 and is still askin' what's goin' on with wamu, gramps...when are we going to get paid...sounds a little bit like some of the people here..funny.
Bob says march 2021...he's probably right. If I remember right he was in the banking business. ...has a bunch of insight.
The LT is closed, correct?
Yeah, I think the escrows will produce, or, at any rate be replaced with real value. jmo
I dragged this off of wikipedia
Escrow
Being in escrow is a contractual arrangement in which a third party (the stakeholder or escrow agent) receives and disburses money or property for the primary transacting parties, most generally, used with plentiful terms that conduct the rightful actions that follow. The disbursement is dependent on conditions agreed to by the transacting parties. Examples include an account established by a broker for holding funds on behalf of the broker's principal or some other person until the consummation or termination of a transaction; or, a trust account held in the borrower's name to pay obligations such as property taxes and insurance premiums. The word derives from the Old French word escroue, meaning a scrap of paper or a scroll of parchment; this indicated the deed that a third party held until a transaction was completed.
Exactly, you got it. It should. You see some? No? Well, guess what that could mean...
Not really. I actually do expect the escrows will return value, otherwise, there would appear to have been no purpose for them to be issued to begin with. When they disappear from my account and are not replaced by value, then, and only then will I believe we have been had. There does seem to be a huge interest of some on this site, who appear to be wishing for no return/recovery. I'm just trying to figure out what wakes these people up every day. Remember, the PIERS were not issued escrow cusips or shares in what is now COOP, either. The were treated differently than the other classes and have now been paid. They were senior in the waterfall and now they are gone. They profited and so far we haven't. We got shares that were then reduced by R/S. I don't know about anyone else, but now, my COOP position need to go over 30 bucks a share to break even on this investment. PIERS MADE money(personally 3.5x ROI)...now, it's our turn. jmo
With the PIERS there was a distribution process that was trackable within ones brokerage account over time until it was all paid up. I think in my TDA account it was listed as a bond. Shouldn't there be some kind of similar process under way to track the value for which the escrows represent, once known?
...and here we are, finally.
..so the piers settling and EQUITY left in the mix means nothing? If they had been successful, I wonder how much each WAHUQ share would have ended up being worth, given that they would ALREADY be paid in full? How much more than the $50 FV, or, how much more than than the 10.60 we received?
It just seems to me that certain people here are looking for absolutes or some form of confirmation of what's expected to come. I just feel if someone has insight to a particular process and is willing to offer up that info and knowledge is a positive thing. Conversely, attacking one because the hoped for event hasn't happened YET is bogus on every level. Remember, so far in time, this has been the biggest bank "failure" in history with a whole bunch crookedinality involved. jmo
can't argue with that one
...yeah, it's all his fault. Maybe when we get paid, you should refuse your share...just to make sure, from your perspective, that AZ is wrong. ...everyday is one day closer to the end...irrefutable
...consequences
Well, I only have my own holdings and entry amount to go on. It was an analogy. So the PIERS didn't make a deal after POR 6? I thought that was the whole reason we're still here talking about it, no? I thought the PIERS had a FV of 50 bucks. I do know something really wrong was done here and I wanted to be a part of it and I am. I bought positions in all classes so I would maybe be included in the eventual settlement, and so far it has been a profitable decision, and if AZ & others are correct in their analysis of the process, it be way more profitable than I could have imagined. So, I really don't care so much exactly where or how we're gonna get satisfied only that we're gonna...as that is fair. jmo
..no doubt
I know. What in the hell are they afraid of? Oh, I forgot...LOSING. Has twitter ever been profitable? Obviously FB has. I wonder what happens when they lose their open platform status and start having to pay for their bold arrogance. This is craziness on roids. jmo
Network news providers who CHOOSE to not deliver ALL of the news, accurately will continue to LOSE viewers.
...not to mention credibility, and eventually their jobs. it's a slippery slope to willingly deceive the peeps...jmo for example; look at the PIERS..they evidently engaged in sketchy enough actions that the judge found legally colorable, made a deal and got capped, we stayed in. ...consequences.. jmo
Thank you. Common sense told me something but I had no idea of what kind of comparisons to play with. I'm good with "a lot". Thanks again and have a great weekend.
Ford sales are actually up 25% year over year in CHINA. A little OT, however, leaders worldwide in order to continue to lead in a free society MUST keep their populace satisfied and safe. If they don't, in a free society they no longer get to lead. Network news providers who CHOOSE to not deliver ALL of the news, accurately will continue to LOSE viewers.
Yeah, well, buying high and selling for anything less is loss.
That's interesting and yet the most recent retail sales reports, as of a couple of minutes ago, show something quite different. Maybe people working from home are getting a premium to work from home, and, if they are they'd likely be spending some of it. Oh yeah, and I just heard that Ford is doing very well in CHINA. I like Ford...they didn't take TARP. I wonder exactly how much money the government lost on GM back then...I know they sold it all at a huge loss. How would you like to have the government as your financial advisor. Well, you kinda do already, as it WAS your (and mine) money.jmo
I'm asking because the settling piers that got capped at around $10.60/share returned for my position over 3X roi, so I just wanted to do a little fantasy math.
Thanks, how about as they(16's) relate to the p's & k's? ..any calculable comparison there, as they(p,k) at one time had a known value?
