CEO states that there should be an Aardvark contract announced before the end of Feb
Q1 results, not bad considering no major contracts were announced. Seems as if the relationship with Aardvark is going well
CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--XENONICS HOLDINGS, INC. (NYSE AMEX:XNN) announced today that revenue for the first quarter ended December 31, 2009 increased 255% to $1,255,000 compared to $354,000 for the first quarter of fiscal 2009. Gross profit increased 265% to $584,000 compared to $160,000 a year earlier. Operating expenses decreased 29% to $989,000 compared to $1,397,000 for the first quarter of the prior fiscal year. The net loss for the first quarter of fiscal 2010 narrowed to $405,000, or $0.02 per share, compared to a net loss of $1,296,000, or $0.06 per share, for the first quarter of fiscal 2009.
"During the first quarter we made further progress in our cost reduction program even as we devoted substantial resources to the development of new and enhanced versions of our NightHunter high-intensity illumination systems and SuperVision high-definition night vision devices. We also expanded our international distribution network. While our progress has been slower in overcoming the many roadblocks we have encountered in the military procurement process, we believe we are making headway in this effort as well. With the steady increase in both the number and value of the Operational Needs Statements for our products submitted by military units already in Iraq and Afghanistan or still stateside preparing to deploy, we see many substantial growth opportunities in the period ahead," said Chairman Alan Magerman.
I hope Aardvark will have XNN products to push

That would have been current debt then.. but good call. Will dig into this. Thanks!
check out the conference call. I believe Alan stated that they did need to finance debt this past quarter
We wouldnt need a direct new contract announcement. During the last month of the previous Q the contract was signed. So with all the work around it etc I doubt that we have seen the real extent of the contract benefits in current earnings. Upcoming quarter will reflect it better me thinks (will have to phone nxx's IR)
Regarding additional contracts. For the supervision scopes it seems unlikely especially for the us market. Since exclusive distribution rights belong to Aardvark.
They are debt free, will be profitable due to the contract.
weekly chart looks really good.
Gonna put some DD into the product type and find out what the mainstream alternatives are./
listen to the last conferenve call. great info

debt free and next q they will have full effect of the signed contract (this q they only enjoyed 1 month)

XENONICS HOLDINGS, INC. (NYSE AMEX:XNN) today announced financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2009, highlighted by a 13% increase in revenue to $2,132,000 compared to $1,892,000 for the third quarter of fiscal 2008. Gross profit increased 53% and gross margin rose to 46% of revenue from 34%, while selling, general and administrative expenses decreased 9%. "Xenonics is transitioning to a new operating model built around the exclusive U.S. distribution agreement we signed last month with Aardvark Tactical, Inc. (ATI) for Xenonics' NightHunter high-intensity illumination systems and its SuperVision high-definition night vision devices, as well as expanded programs for international distribution. We believe the ATI agreement marks the beginning of a significant expansion of our business with Aardvark, and shows how we can leverage Aardvark's proven sales and marketing and distribution capabilities to grow our company," said Chairman Alan Magerman.
"With the ATI agreement now in place, we also have moved quickly to eliminate redundant in-house sales and marketing expenses. This is expected to reduce operating costs by approximately $1.5 million annually, beginning in the current quarter. We are convinced that Xenonics' future is brighter than ever. We currently expect improved top and bottom line performance in the fourth quarter versus prior year, and we believe the combination of Xenonics' best-in-class illumination and night vision products, ATI's professional and highly effective marketing capabilities, our expanded international distribution programs, and our substantially reduced cost structure is the right formula for long-term growth and profitability," Magerman said.

Xenonics Fiscal 2008 Revenue Doubled to $10.2 Million
Wednesday December 17, 7:30 am ET
CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--XENONICS HOLDINGS, INC. (AMEX:XNN - News) announced today that revenue for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2008 increased 104% to $10.2 million from $5.0 million for fiscal 2007. The net loss for fiscal 2008 narrowed to $1.4 million, or $0.07 per share, which included $963,000 in R&D expenses and $241,000 in non-cash stock-based compensation expenses. For fiscal 2007, the net loss was $4.0 million, or $0.22 per share.
"Xenonics' improved operating performance for fiscal 2008 versus fiscal 2007 was driven by higher shipments of our NightHunter high-intensity illumination devices to U.S. Army, U.S. Marines and military distributors, and sales of our patented SuperVision high-definition night vision products to more than 100 police and government agencies throughout the United States. Looking forward, with more than $11 million in Operational Needs Statements requesting funding for purchases of NightHunter 3 already submitted by military units, and the growth we are generating in our SuperVision customer base in both the U.S. and abroad, we believe that revenue can double again in fiscal 2009 and the Company can deliver a profit for the year," said Chief Executive Officer Chuck Hunter.
The CEO noted that selling, general and administrative expenses for fiscal 2008 decreased 18% to $4,926,000 compared to $6,007,000 for fiscal 2007, while R&D expenses increased 35% to support the development of new products, including NightHunter 3, NightHunter Snyper, NightHunter Tactical IR, SuperVision Tactical Package and SuperVision Long Range Surveillance System. "New products that enhance the capabilities of our customers in the field and help them do their jobs better and more safely are an important part of our growth strategy," Hunter said.

NightHunter and SuperVision Evaluations Underway By Customers in Europe, Asia and South America
CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Xenonics Holdings, Inc. (NYSE Alternext US: XNN), the leader in high-intensity illumination and high-definition night vision technologies, announced today that it has shipped its new SuperVision Long Range Surveillance (LRS) system to the government of Colombia, South America. SuperVision LRS offers up to 100x zoom capability, compared to the 8x zoom capability in Xenonics' standard SuperVision high-definition night vision device. "We are proud to add Colombia to our growing list of international customers for both our SuperVision and NightHunter products," said Chief Executive Officer Chuck Hunter.
"This year we have shipped NightHunter and SuperVision systems to military and other government customers in Europe, Asia and South America. Additional international customers are evaluating our NightHunter 3 system for their weapons-mount illumination programs, and two more countries in South America are moving forward in the procurement process for both SuperVision and NightHunter products. One European country has indicated an immediate need for a substantial number of NightHunter 3s, which they tell us is the only illumination product that meets their requirements. By supplementing our strong relationships with defense, police and government agencies in the United States, international diversification of our customer base is helping us build a robust platform for long-term growth," Hunter said.

Xenonics On Track to More Than Double Revenue in Fiscal 2008 Versus Fiscal 2007 Expects to Double Revenue Again in Fiscal 2009 Versus Fiscal 2008

SuperVision Now In Use By More Than 100 Police and Government Agencies
CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--XENONICS HOLDINGS, INC. (NYSE Alternext US:XNN), a leader in high-intensity illumination and high-definition night vision technologies, announced today that the Company expects to report that revenue more than doubled for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2008 compared to revenue of $5.0 million reported for fiscal 2007. "With NightHunter 3, our newest, most advanced illumination device, now shipping, and our patented SuperVision high-definition night vision system now in use by more than 100 police and government agencies, we are on track to double our sales again in fiscal 2009 versus fiscal 2008," said Chief Executive Officer Chuck Hunter. The Company plans to report its audited financial results for fiscal 2008 in December.
"A key element of our marketing strategy for our NightHunter and SuperVision products is an aggressive schedule of participation in police, fire, defense and homeland security conferences around the world. This coming week Xenonics will have a major presence at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference in San Diego. In just the past few weeks, our products have been featured at the prestigious international Shepard Night Vision Conference in London, the year's most important U.S. Army show in D.C., the largest U.S. Marine show in Quantico, the U.S. Army Infantry conference, the annual National Guard conference, the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) conference, and the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) conference. As we anticipated, these efforts are paying off in the steady expansion of our customer base that should support our growth in the years to come," Hunter said.

Xenonics' SuperVision Facilitates Narcotics Bust in Northern California Mountains
Wednesday August 6, 7:30 am ET
CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--"Without SuperVision, we would have missed a 60 pound narcotics exchange, the subsequent arrest of four individuals, and the seizure of two firearms," an investigator for the U.S. Forest Service reported to XENONICS HOLDINGS, INC. (AMEX:XNN - News) about his experience with the Company's patented SuperVision high-definition night vision device.
"We purchased a SuperVision to support our night operations in large marijuana grow sites deep in the mountains of northern California," the investigator wrote. "One night another agent and I were on LP/OP assignments approximately 250 yards from a known drop location. My partner was equipped with a typical Gen 3 greenlight (night vision) scope and I with my SuperVision. Using SuperVision's zoom feature, I was able to capture all the targets' activities, including bundle exchanges, but all my partner could see was 'ants on the hillside.' I looked through his greenlight scope for comparison and saw exactly that, just ants on a hillside."
Xenonics CEO Chuck Hunter said, "This is typical of the feedback we receive from police and public safety officers representing more than 80 departments around the country. SuperVision delivers the nighttime surveillance capabilities our customers have long been looking for, but could not find before even with the most expensive Gen 3 equipment. SuperVision is proving itself in the field to be an invaluable tool that helps police and public safety officers perform their difficult jobs better, easier and safer."
SuperVision is a hand-held, lightweight high-definition night vision system that uses a sophisticated multispectral CCD sensor and proprietary digital signal processor to transform ambient light that is invisible to the naked eye into a sharp and clear digital video image on an HDTV display. SuperVision provides unprecedented resolution, clarity, and range, and offers up to 8x zoom capability, features no other vision system can match.
I agree this was a great entry point.
.75 was a great entry yesterday. $1 is comming with earnings ahead...

Former Director of Business Development for ITT Night Vision Joins Xenonics
Tuesday June 10, 10:05 am ET
CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--XENONICS HOLDINGS, INC. (AMEX:XNN - News), a leader in high-intensity illumination and high-definition night vision technologies, announced today that Larry Curfiss, Vice President and Director of Business Development for ITT Night Vision from 2000 until his retirement in 2007, has been named a Consultant and Chairman of the Company's newly formed Advisory Board.

"With its world-class illumination and high-definition night vision products, Xenonics has an outstanding growth opportunity. By assisting in the development of sales and marketing strategies and advising on the execution, I look forward to helping Xenonics achieve its full potential," Curfiss said.
CEO Chuck Hunter said, "No one has more experience or enjoyed more success selling night vision equipment to military and commercial customers around the world than Larry Curfiss. In his years as head of business development at ITT Night Vision, Larry developed and implemented global sales and marketing strategies that contributed to a tripling of revenue to nearly $500 million annually. We are thrilled to benefit from Larry's knowledge and insights about our industry."
Curfiss, 58 years old, was Vice President and Director of Commercial Products at ITT Night Vision from 1996 to 2000, Vice President an Director of Materials at ITT Night Vision from 1993 to 1996, and Director of Manufacturing at ITT Electro-Optical Products Division from 1986 to 1993.
ITT Night Vision, based in Roanoke, Virginia, is the world's leading developer, producer and supplier of Generation (Gen) 3 image intensifier technology for U.S. and allied military forces, as well as homeland security.
The CREW serve should be announced soon.
The warrants issues that happened this week was interesting. They did not exercise the warrents at .60 but made the decision to extend the warrants another 6 months and a 50% increase in the price of the warrants. Odd
Thinly traded and no support for the price. Less than 15 million market cap and recently turned profitable. Must go back over a buck to maintain AMEX listing. After that it depends on gov contracts.
Everything I state is just my own opinion so do your own DD.
Buying great stocks is important but buying great stocks at a great price is even more important.
Xnn compared to the competition. Seems like everyone is down
http://finance.google.com/finance?q=xnn
Chuck was not at the investor confernce. We were told he was on a sales call instead.
Three salespeople have been let go out of a group of 20. Hirinf is underway
There are 80 law enforcement agencies and other public entities that have ordered supervision. this is up from 60 a month ago. Reordering has begun for some of the law enforcement agencies. They usually order 5-8 units but reorders average 16-20 units. With the reorders, the agenices have shown interest in other products NH and snyper.
The CREW serve contract has not been issued yet. Chuck has stated that he hoped this would be given out before the end of fiscal 08. Fiscal 08 ends in september
Warrents were extended yesterday until Jan 09. With this agreement, the price of the warrants increased also. I will post the link later.
Slow progress, but progress.
Issues to watch for
1) Crew served competition
Nighthunter III
-weight 5 pounds
-Focusable beam
-Field-replaceable (in under 2 minutes) xenon bulb
-Gov price $3000-$3500
Hellfighter
-Weight 10 pounds
-Fixed width beam
-High intensity bulb has no filament to burn out
-price $4500
2) Nighthunter is already part of the standard non-lethal kit issued by the Army
3) The Army has contracted with XNN to develop a new tactical light...sometimes referred to as the NighHunter 4
4) A R&D contract was signed with Advanced Ceramics Reasearch to develop a high intensity illumination system for a new unmammed aerial vehicle that ACR is under contract to develop for the US government.
A new form 4 filed.
http://www.pinksheets.com/edgar/GetFilingPdf?FilingID=6049436
I sure hope we hold above a dollar or we are in some major trouble..imo
I don't think XNN is going to get the crew served weapons light contract. The decline in share prices correlates with this announcement:
http://www.1888pressrelease.com/peak-beam-systems-inc-introduces-high-intensity-crew-serve-pr-966w5qfu6.html
add volume and we are off!..imo
I agree. When this moves, it will move big
I like the news too even if the market fails to respond. We need more liquidly and institutional support. Maybe a move to NASDAQ would help? In time, this should pay off big.
This is big.
