Additionally the company will be engaging a registered investment banking firm to advise on mergers, acquisitions and financing. The Company looks for this to be finalized over the next 2 weeks.

Further, the company is in the final stage of settling with our debt holders. The previously announced arrangement has not been executed, as the company is continuing to negotiate terms in the best interest of the company and for the success of our brands. On the brand front, demand continues to be extraordinary for the Bellissima line of Prosecco. The company has recently received our first orders from additional key markets including Ohio, Oklahoma, Kentucky and all four jurisdictions of Tennessee. In California the Company has made a strategic decision based on timing and terms, to go from our previously announced and anticipated distribution deal with Youngs, to an agreement with The Henry Wine Group, a division of Winebow, www.winebowgroup.com. This expands the strategic distribution partnership with Winebow; the company is excited to be working with The Henry Wine Group in the California market. In a continued effort to move our company forward and in the proper manner, Mr. Bianco will be instrumental in the initiatives of corporate governance and compliance, as well as advising on the selection of our auditing firm, creation of a proper board of directors, and selection of an appropriate IR Firm to represent the company. Mr. Bianco will assist in all contractual and legal matters so as best to position our company for success. The initial term of the contract is for 6 months with the expectation of Mr. Bianco joining the company in a permanent capacity thereafter; Mr. Bianco has agreed to receive restricted shares in the company and will waive his salary for the term.

Mr. Joseph J. Bianco graduated from Yale Law School, and went on to teach law, joining the faculty of Cardozo Law School where he became associate Dean. When it comes to celebrating the holidays, Christie Brinkley knows how to do it right.

“Prosecco is like the new champagne,” she says. “For the first time prosecco has surpassed champagne in sales so it’s the drink of the moment and just pouring a glass in a flute already looks like a celebration, so I thought how do you improve on that?”

Brinkley, 62, says the key to adding a festive touch to your usual glass of bubbles, is dropping in a few cranberries.

“It turns it the prettiest color,” she says. “And I also floated a cranberry on it and a mint leaf and a lime on the side so you have the red and green. It tastes a lot like a margarita, which is a drink I always love as well. For me its always between a prosecco and a margarita so it’s the perfect blend of both.”

To keep her fit figure while wining and dining during the holidays, Brinkley says her go-to dish is usually a vegetable plate with hummus and guacamole. Instead of corn chips, she often tries chips made out of beans or quinoa.

“And we all know how good avocados are for you,” she says. “You’re really not splurging that much.”

The Bellissima Blizzard

3 oz. prosecco
1.5 oz. tequila
2 oz.fresh lime juice
3 whole cranberries
1 tbsp. of triple sec
1 tbsp. of maple syrup or agave
Ice

1. Place all ingredients in blender and blend on high until well mixed.

2. Garnish with one cranberry, slice of lime and a mint leaf.

 


CHRISTIE BRINKLEY LAUNCHES “BELLISSIMA PROSECCO”

Before the craziness of Thanksgiving, I had the interesting opportunity to witness Christie Brinkley arrive at the Southlake Tom Thumb on horseback. This momentous (yet bizarre) occasion was to present her new line of organic prosecco. You heard that right … you can now feel good–and dare I say, healthy–about your drinking habits. And if you’re anything like me, sparkling wine is a daily indulgence, so the fact that there’s now an organic line is HUGE. Her line actually includes three different wines: a zero sugar sparkling white wine, a sparkling rosé wine, and a Prosecco DOC brut.

After Christie’s grand entrance, we were escorted inside the store where there was a massive line waiting for the chance to have a bottle signed by and a picture taken with the supermodel. There were stations set up at various points where people could taste the new line and decide which bottle to purchase (but let’s be honest, I bought all of them). Available for purchase were three different organic wines:

Zero Sugar Sparkling White Wine: Made with 100% Glera organic grapes and produced with natural selected yeasts and has no residual sugar. It is an enthralling wine, that exhales a fine scent of delicious yeasts, white flowers, and grapefruit. It is fresh, velvety, creamy, and dry but it is perfectly balanced and has a pleasant acidity.

Sparkling Rosé Wine: Made with 100% Pinot Grigio organic grapes and is produced using the “Charmat Method”, which is the natural re-fermentation in autoclave. This rosé is elegant with hints of strawberry and grapefruit, which provide a fresh and fruity flavor.

Prosecco Doc BRUT: Made with 100% Glera organic grapes, which were called Prosecco grames until 2009. The BRUT is the driest version of Prosecco, but to balance it out are delicate scents of green apple and freshly baked bread.

As an avid Prosecco indulger, I was a little apprehensive about an organic line, not wanting to risk flavor for a healthier element. But these wines taste just as good as anything I would be drinking normally, which means their organic properties are just an added benefit. Another bonus: the bottles are adorned with artwork from Christie herself, which was inspired by Botticelli’s “Venus”.

Christie Brinkley is an upbeat advocate for Bellissima, a sparkling wine. Upbeat, and as Mark Phillips discovered, VERY hands on:

“It’s my new workout,” grunted Christie Brinkley, lugging a wine case.

No one will ever accuse Brinkley of a lack of enthusiasm.  Now she’s even more motivated.

Bellissima is her very own wine label -- a new range of Prosecco, the Italian fizz that is about the hottest thing in the liquor business right now. U.S. sales are up about a third each year lately.

And Brinkley and her partners think they’ve found a way to break through the market clutter: Her.

Phillips said, “Of all the places I’ve pictured you, the loading dock wasn’t one of them, I gotta say.”

“Oh, believe me, I’m involved in every aspect of this,” she said.

More than four decades into a modeling career, Christie Brinkley never met a camera lens she didn’t like -- and that didn’t like her back.

Prosecco, long a pre-dinner tipple in Italy, is being marketed in the U.S. as a kind of champagne without the pretentions (and without the price tag). More bubbles for the buck.

Phillips asked if she were a Prosecco girl before getting involved in the Prosecco business. “Oh yeah, I’ve had my fair share,” she laughed.

In the Veneto region of Italy, about an hour north of Venice, where anything that calls itself Prosecco has to come from, they can’t make enough of the stuff. (“Everyone wants Prosecco,” Brinkley said.)  If you’re going to get into the wine business, this is the place.

And this is where Brinkley has come.

She’s not only found a wine she likes; Christie Brinkley seems to have found the fountain of youth.  She’s 62 years old now … going on 22 by the look of her. 

“You know, I have been around a looooong time,” she said.

It has been 37 years since she became the nation’s pin-up girl, appearing on three consecutive Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covers, from 1979 to 1981 -- the only time anybody’s ever done that.

And her life has been like a timeline of the Boomer Generation, if a little more glamorous.  Not everybody has a pop-star husband in whose music video you can more or less play yourself.  

“I have a theme song,” she laughed. “Wherever I go!”

Billy Joel, of “Uptown Girl” fame, was one of four husbands and four divorces -- two good, two bad, she says. There were three children along the way.

It’s been a life of mostly highs and some significant lows, from her family’s beginnings in Michigan, to surfer-girl California, to an art student’s life in Paris where she was discovered in a post office, the legend goes.

“I never really wanted to be a model. That was never a dream of mine,” she said. “And I was a little embarrassed. But I needed the money!

“But my friends, you know, were kind of like, ‘Well, that’s so bourgeois of you to do this. How can you do this?’ And I was like, ‘Well, I can afford to take us all to Greece!’ And they’re like, ‘Okay!’ Not bad.”

Whenever she’s been counted out, she’s always seems to bounce back -- never with a higher, or perhaps more unlikely, rebound than when she was asked to play Roxi Hart in the long-running musical, “Chicago.” The reviews, like her marriages, were mixed. But it jump-started her career once again.

“I never felt like I retired,” she said. “I always get a little bit insulted when I read ‘former model.’ And I’m like, ‘Former?’ What do they think I’ve been doing all this time? I’m still here. I haven’t gone anywhere!”

Christie has used her fame in product promotion before. There’s the skin care line, and gym equipment. 

And in keeping with the always-look-your-best theme, her fans may be pleased to know the new Prosecco range is organic, and includes a sugar-free option. “It’s zero sugar, it’s zero carbs. This is safe for people with diabetes, for people on a diet,” she said.

What the world needs: Diet Prosecco. Down the hatch!

And if anybody thinks Brinkley’s new line is a way of toasting the end of her career, toast again: “If people are hoping to send me off with a bottle of champagne, bottle of my Prosecco, like, pop that cork and say, ‘Yay, she’s retired.’ That’s not gonna happen right away!” she laughed.

Consider Brinkley’s latest move into spirits with a new line of organic prosecco called, fittingly, Bellissima. The Italian sparkler launched in New York this summer, where it was the season’s sip of choice around Brinkley’s Long Island hometown, and just hit Philadelphia state stores in time for the holidays. “Bubbly wines are the exclamation point on a beautiful moment. Think about it: When do you pop a cork? When your friends stop by or when someone has a baby or gets engaged or even gets divorced,” she explains.

She’s always been a fan of sparkling wines, but Brinkley says the brand’s commitment to being 100 percent organic is what most appealed to her. “I talk a lot in interviews and on Instagram about going organic because it’s good for our bodies and good for the environment. I’m always posting pictures of my garden. You don’t need chemicals to have beautiful flowers or vegetables.”

Brinkley threw herself into the project, clipping grapes in Italy, sourcing organic ink and packaging, and designing the label inspired by Botticelli’s Venus (“the lettering is similar to the credits for Fellini’s La Strada,” she says). That same tenacity went into her skincare brand, which adds five new anti-aging potions to the collection next year. “This was when I discovered how finicky I am when it comes to putting my name on something,” she says. “We spent two years working on this one cream, but it still wasn’t exactly what I wanted; I knew it could be better. I fought for my decision because I didn’t want my name on anything less than perfect.”

Supermodel and entrepreneur Christie Brinkley has always been bubbly and full of life, and now she has tried to bottle that effervescence in her new line of organic prosecco, called Bellissima

"I've always been a big Champagne girl. My mom always drank Champagne," Brinkley says.

The three wines in the collection -- Brut DOC, Zero Sugar and Rosé -- are all made with organic grapes grown in Treviso in the heart of Italy's Veneto wine region.

"It was like choosing a baby’s name," she says at coming up with Bellissima, which in Italian means "most beautiful." "We hope that when people are having a beautiful moment in their life, we are included. That we help add some sparkle to the occasion."

 

Beauty and health

And health is always a big part of beauty for Brinkley.  The Zero Sugar wine, which Brinkley says is "supermodel approved," is her drink of choice when she has a photo shoot coming up. She's also proud that a huge segment of the population can now have a drink, even if they have diabetes or can't have much sugar. "They can be a part of the celebration, too."

The wines are also all organic, which is uncommon. 

"When I first started drinking wine, I wondered why there weren't more organic wines out there," Brinkley says.

"People are becoming much more aware of which foods are dirty or clean, and grapes are one of the biggest offenders."

Sparklers are great for mixing

Brinkley has also been experimenting with wine cocktails recently, and there are a few recipes on the website to try. "The Aperol Spritz is thedrink of the moment in Europe right now," she says. "You see all these people walking around with beautifully colored orange glasses." She says the Zero Sugar is perfect for cocktails since you are adding other liquors with their own sugar content. 

 

 

In addition to wine, Brinkley's other favorite drink is tequila. She recently made a margarita with tequila, Zero Sugar Bellissima, pineapple juice, fresh-squeezed lime and a little salt on the rim. "I used to be intimidated by [making cocktails], but I just thought I'd experiment and try different things," she says. Her holiday recommendation? Drop a few canned lychees in a Champagne flute and add the prosecco. Simple and chic.

Big bubbles for Texas

Brinkley says she loves Texas, especially Fort Worth. "I just love the whole vibe, that the cowboy tradition lives on," she says.  She's an accomplished equestrian and has competed in several championships here, and she thinks Texans will love her prosecco because they have a gusto for life. 

"All the Texans I've ever met have a lot of zest and real appreciation for life and living and celebration," she says.

"I was also in Texas a few months ago and it was pretty hot!," she says with a laugh. "Prosecco can be really refreshing!"

The wines are newly available in the Dallas market and sell for under $20 each. Brinkley will be meeting with fans this Friday, Nov. 18, at two area Tom Thumb locations: 1-3 p.m. Nov. 18 at Tom Thumb Southlake, 100 W. Southlake Blvd.; and 5-7 p.m. Nov. 18 at Tom Thumb Dallas, 7700 Northwest Highway at Boedecker. You can also watch her tour the vineyard during harvest on CBS This Morning on Nov. 20.

I always knew that Sicily was famous for exporting olives, pizza and the mafia, but never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that they would also distill and export vodka. In Europe, you kind of expect that sort of thing from Poland and Russia, and lately France, but Sicily, really? Well, it must be so because a few days ago a bottle of Bivi, Sicilian vodka showed up at my door delivered by a mafia looking type of Fed Ex guy who warned me politely that I better like this stuff or he’d be back to make sure I changed my mind, if I knew what he was talking about, wink, wink.

Whether I will rant or rave is yet to be seen, but it sounds like they just might be making a decent spirit. Starting in an old world artisan distillery in Messina, Sicily, they bring together Semolina wheat and pristine Sicilian water, and then fire up the stills, using Sicilian fruitwoods from blood orange trees and lemon trees. Their brand partner is “A Bronx Tale” star and Sicilian Chaz Palminteri. As the legend goes, Chaz and Frank Sinatra were finishing their martinis one night when Sinatra offered Chaz one of the two olives that were in his drink as a symbol of their friendship. Chaz was deeply honored by this gesture upon learning that it was a Rat-Pack tradition. And that is why there are two olives in the Bivi logo on the bottle.

 

Okay, enough talk of olives and martinis and Sicily and Frank Sinatra; let’s get into this vodka and see what we see. The bottle is clear with the Bivi logo standing out in red and green, and at the bottom of the bottle, there is a green, white and red bar symbolizing the Sicilian colors. The nose is a true super premium nose with no ethanol vapors and almost no aromas or odors of virtually any kind. If I really concentrate, I might just get the slightest hint of wheat, but otherwise, it is clean and clear. On the palate, I finally pick up a touch of smoke, a bit of the wheat and an ever so slight citrus note, but again, this spirit really adheres to that classic definition of vodka being a tasteless, odorless spirit. Oh, and less I forget, it’s smooth, very smooth with no bite, no sting, no tingle, nothing. The finish is clean as well, just barely leaving an earthy tone and a bit of warmth. This is one of the finest vodkas I have tasted to date. It really defines super-premium in every way possible. I dare to say that it is better than some of those Polish, Russian and French vodkas that sell for much more. If you love vodka like I do, you really should get yourself a bottle of Bivi Vodka. I can guarantee you, you won’t be disappointed.
