In my opinion that board has grown into an enabler for IRP`s and others like that to gain marks as part of an larger effort to make newbies and other less experienced investors think that these "falsely" marked individuals are more qualified and credible than they actually are or deserve to be..

In turn causing lesser experienced investors to lose countless amounts of money through of the efforts of these "falsely" marked stock prophets..

And that has absolutely NOTHING to do with highlighting members aliases to be able to track their activity..

The board in part lies at the very root of an ever growing problem..

The powers that be decided that IHUB should be like Twitter and Facebook instead of being unique.

iHub was doing that long before Facebook or Twitter ever existed.

Favorites/Follows are provided for each user to use or not use as they see fit. The vast majority of members use them for one-click access to their Favorite/Followed users and boards, and by doing so having iHub track new post activity for them.

It's a natural by-product to report the aggregate number of marks, again something that has been going on since long before the advent of Facebook or Twitter. If some choose to assign a perceived value to the number of marks held by a board or user, the value (or lack thereof) is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I find it preferable for the Mutual Respect and Admiration Society to conduct their swap meet on that board than on stock boards.

I don't think that you have a clear understanding of what the person mark board was designed to accomplish. It allows a member to meet other members and to easily locate them. The exchange of person marks simplifies this. I for one am glad that it's here as it has allowed me to meet and track others with similar ideas easily. I guess the obvious question here is this. Other members use the board and are happy it's there, if it offends you don't go there. To imply that it's purpose is to increase person marks so others will feel that you are a savvy seasoned investor is so ludicrous that's it's funny

I think too many people waste way to much time worrying about a "person mark" I come to ihub for two reasons. 1. for social reasons and 2. to make money. I really don't care who does or doesn't follow me. I spend a lot of time on this site helping and teaching others. If I get one person a week telling me thanks for showing or teaching them how to do something I feel I did my job. If I spent this much time worrying about a "person mark" chances are I probably would not have made as much money as I would have if I spent more of my free time researching stock picks and charts. If people are that worried about ihub person marks they should really think about making a twitter account and compete for follows. This is just my opinion only. This subject is getting old and very childish IMO

One other use and possibly the most useful was pointed out to me by another member..it is this if you look under favorites directly under the list of boards a member follow..is a list of the members that that they follow..if you look to the right of the alias you see a column labeled "new posts" it shows how many posts were made by the followed member since you last checked..it also allows a member to read the entire list of posts with just a click..this can be an incredibly powerful tool to factor in the opinions and information of members you believe to be well informed and have interests similar to yours.

I don't think the personmark system is CORRUPTED, I don't think it's a system other than something to give another person a number, (certainly not like the one on eBay).

How can something (like an iHub Person Mark) that has no indicator of a person’s reliability, integrity, knowledge or trustworthiness be CORRUPT?

Please bear in mind, I thought Person Mark's were an indicator of a person’s reliability, integrity, knowledge, trustworthiness and trading knowledge until I found-out the hard way that I was sadly wrong.
I thought about the Person Mark "system" after that, to try to see if there was something, anything about it that would indicate one person over another to be reliable, knowledgeable or trustworthy and I found Nothing.
Each person can find another person here on iHub reliable, knowledgeable or trustworthy to a point but one should NEVER trade stocks according to what another person says.
Take the stock tips or information you get or find from another person and verify the info through your own DD and then, if you do decide to trade that stock, do so ONLY according to your own judgment.
