RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT:

AeroQuest has, under development, several projects pertaining to Renewable Energy Technology. These proprietary research and development projects will allow AeroQuest to market composite designed products to existing companies within the solar and wind energy industries. In addition, AeroQuest is in early stage development of an all-electric light-duty commercial delivery van. AeroQuest is committed to the development of products that will help reduce green-house emissions and lower our dependency for fossil fuel while leaving a smaller environmental footprint.


 
 

1.  Light-Duty All-Electric Delivery Van:

AeroQuest engineers are in the early stage development of an all-electric, all-composite, light-weight commercial delivery van that will be produced in conjunction with AeroQuest's patented light-weight vehicle body. There are several very recent "break-through" technologies (aside from the light-weight AeroQuest body design) that will allow for the design and production of such a vehicle. Two of the recent developing technologies include:

 

Electric Vehicle Motors that are manufactured using a new alloy that substantially reduces the heat generated as a result of high output operation. These new electric motors can develop enormous horsepower while using considerably less energy than most other motors. It is now possible for an electric motor weighing only 125 pounds to produce up to 250 hp. In most cases, a transmission will not be required. Replacing an internal combustion power train or "hybrid" power train with newly developing all-composite electric vehicle technology may reduce a commercial vehicles weight by over 75%.

Lithium Ion Electric Vehicle Battery Packs currently under development will reduce weight by nearly 50% over the lithium ion battery packs currently available while doubling the energy storage capacity. The increased battery energy storage capacity when supplied to an energy efficient electric motor will allow ultra-light commercial delivery vans to be driven a considerable distance before re-charging.

2.  Photovoltaic Solar Panels:

AeroQuest engineers are currently working with exciting technologies that will allow the World Home and other structures designed by AeroQuest to be self-sufficient using "renewable energy".

A recent break-through in a high-speed manufacturing process for the production of photovoltaic solar cells has led to a substantial reduction in the cost of P V cells. As a result of this new break-through technology, AeroQuest will now be able incorporate the very light-weight and flexible P V solar "film" into roof panels as they are produced on high speed panel laminators.

A portion of electricity produced by the solar roof will be used to power the home or other structure during the day. The excess electricity may be stored in lithium-ion batteries or used to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen gas that can be stored and then used as fuel for hydrogen fuel cells. The electricity produced by the fuel cells or stored in battery packs could then power an electric generator for night time use or be used to power an electric vehicle.

Not only are the products produced stronger and lighter, but the technology allows for nearly all products to be made without releasing volatile organic compounds (VOC's) into the atmosphere as occurs with the conventional thermoset "fiberglass" process. Being "thermoplastic", most manufacturing waste can be recycled into new products.

The uniqueness of the manufacturing and assembly as compared to manufacturing processes currently being used is the use of fiber reinforced thermoplastic sandwich panels. When assembled, the sandwich panels that make up the side walls, roof, and the vehicle floor, do not rrequire an internal support frame such as those vehicles produced using conventional "sheet and post" design. In contrast, the AeroQuest composite bodies will allow for fiber-reinforced thermoplastic sandwich panels, in "monocoque" design, to carry the weight of the vehicle and its cargo, and to dissipate all stress loads generated, throughout the entire vehicle. In one regard, the stress loads exhibited on the structure react as though the structure is not comprised of several body panels, but rather, as a single unitary structure supporting the total load and resisting all internal and external forces.

4.  The All-Composite World Home:

The design and construction of pre-fabricated homes has undergone little advancement in technology over the past fifty years. Currently, pre-fabricated homes are of similar design characteristics, that being, wood frame with sheets of plywood and dry wall. When natural forces such as high wind, water surge or seismic events are applied to these homes, "point loads" are generated at each wooden joint that may lead to catastrophic failure.

The World Home design will allow pre-fabricated all-composite homes to be produced that will exhibit tremendous improvements over existing pre-fabricated structures by using a "monocoque" design, low cost automated manufacturing process and pre-fabricated, "easy to assemble," on-site construction.

By greatly lowering production and on-site assembly costs, the pre-fabricated World Home will reduce the over-all cost of homes by 30-percent or more and will allow these homes to withstand hurricane force wind, flood surge, fire and minimize damage associated with these events. In addition, the World Home will resist insect infestation, dry rot, rust and mildew; a virtually maintenance free home.

6.  Highway Sound Abatement Walls:

AeroQuest has designed a number of products used in the highway and construction industries. The most unique of these products is a Highway Sound Abatement Wall with a totally different design (Patent Pending), choice of materials, manufacturing process, and installation method. The unitary fiber reinforced thermoplastic sandwich panel construction method will allow for sound abatement walls to be built exhibiting far superior noise abatement properties with excellent strength to weight ratio resulting in very light-weight wall sections. The "all-composite" sound abatement walls will be extremely quick and easy to install due to their very light-weight property. The composite walls can be installed at a fraction of the assembly time that is required for concrete sound barriers. As a result, heavy equipment is not required for installation and the time needed to close down highway traffic lanes for installation is greatly reduced.

The cost to manufacture and install the AeroQuest all-composite sound abatement walls will be substantially less than the cost of concrete sound abatement walls. AeroQuest's low cost manufacturing process when combined with the reduction in labor hours for installation will result in cost savings to States and Federal Government of 50% or more.

There are additional benefits to the AeroQuest all-composite sound abatement walls. As a result of the walls being produced using fiber reinforced polypropylene, the walls have the ability to reduce noise by "sound absorption" rather than simply re-directing the sound. Also, by using polypropylene to produce the sound abatement walls, "graffiti" can be easily cleaned from the walls without the need for re-painting.

TECHNOLOGY:

 

The raw material, recently developed, is the foundation upon which the technology has evolved. Thermoplastic fibers, generally polypropylene, are combined with structural reinforcement glass, carbon, or natural fibers and then woven or stitched into a cloth. The cloth is then consolidated using heat and pressure to form very high strength, extremely durable and very light-weight fiber reinforced thermoplastic sheets.

AeroQuest uses these impact resistant sheets as "skins" for the production of sandwich panels. The production of sandwich panels is accomplished by thermo-fusing the fiber reinforced skins to both sides of a thermoplastic honeycomb core, or thermoplastic foam core, or by injecting "bio-based" polyurethane foam between the top and bottom skins. The sandwich panel skins, being thermoplastic, allow for an incredible amount of flexibility in product design.

Products can be formed from the sandwich panels by a compound bending process; they can be formed with recessed cavities or formed with a variety of edge treatments including tongue and groove panel joints. Fiber reinforced thermoplastic sheets may be vacuum formed into a variety of components such as corner caps, composite doors, or even a complete RV end cap. In many cases, smaller components can be produced from recycled or scrap material.

Gold River Productions Inc. (GRPS) Announces Patent Filings


SALT LAKE CITY, UT, Oct 13, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- John Ohlin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Gold River Productions Inc. (PINKSHEETS: GRPS), reported today that "as a result of acquiring our recent capitalization several patents are being filed."

"This week our Patent Attorneys will file our Monolithic, Photovoltaic (P.V.) Solar Roof patent," Mr. Ohlin disclosed. "This patent will be filed worldwide as well once it has been filed with the U.S. Patent Office," Mr. Ohlin said. "The applications for this technology are truly worldwide with many other areas of the world being far advanced versus the U.S. in embracing alternative energy," he said. "On a recent trip to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland I observed that solar energy in particular has wide acceptance in both residential and commercial building applications."

"Our technology will allow solar roofs to be installed in 60' free span lengths, with an R value in excess of R-42. Photovoltaic solar cells, producing up to 13 watts of power per hour per square foot are integrated into the exterior skin of the monolithic, structural insulated roof panels," he stated. "Our P.V. solar roof panels will be produced on high-speed, fully automated laminators. At full production, the laminators can produce in excess of one million sq. ft. of P.V. solar roof panels per month; generating potential sales for AeroQuest in excess of thirty million dollars per month."
