Products for the nutraceutical and nutrition industries
Patent Information Greenhouse Solutions is the exclusive licensee of US Patent 6080401 to produce cannabis-derived nutraceuticals.
GH Solutions brings a patented technological advancement to the nutraceutical, functional beverage, and health food markets. As the exclusive licensee of US patent 6080401, we are the sole source of formulations that supercharge the benefits of botanicals like hemp seed oil with the incredible health and wellness effects of probiotics.
We chose the probiotic approach not only because of its intrinsic health benefits, but also because of its efficacy as a delivery mechanism. Probiotics enable the body to absorb botanical oils more quickly and effectively. Our method— licensed from one of the world’s leading probiotic researchers—positions us to develop an exciting portfolio of beneficial formulations for use as ingredients by nutritional supplement, food, and beverage manufacturers.
Partnering with GH Solutions is the pathway to developing products that offer the therapeutic benefits of hemp oil and probiotics synergistically, in a new, more effective way.
Functional Beverage Industry
The first commercial product featuring GH Solutions ingredients will be available at retailers nationwide beginning in 2016. We’ve partnered with Koios
, a major nootropics developer, on a new addition to its beverage product line. Widely known as a nootropic supplement developer, Koios makes products that support cognitive function and mental clarity.
Koios worked with GH Solutions in order to infuse its proprietary and hugely successful blend of nootropics with hemp oil. Marketed as a dietary supplement to enhance brain function, boost energy and burn fat, the newest Koios functional beverage is “Raspberry Wonder,” and it is just the beginning. Work is underway now to develop the next generation of Raspberry Wonder, which will use GH Solution’s patent protected process to suspend active probiotics in the beverage.
We are also engaged in research and development of a new probiotic hemp oil-infused cold-brew coffee beverage—another first of its kind.
Nutraceutical Supplements Industry
We are working with a major health supplement developer to produce water soluble, probiotic infused Phytocannabinoid oils an ingredient for nutraceutical product manufacturers. The water solubility of probiotics —another GH Solutions innovation— means that this ingredient could be integrated into any number of formulations, including capsules and foods, as well as beverages. A major American university is engaged in a full study of the compound to establish the health benefits of this new ingredient.
We expect to see hemp oils in a wide range of uses, and not just for people. It is increasingly popular for pet health care as well.
Support the immune system and speed nutrient absorption at the same time
Probiotics are live bacteria and microorganisms that, among other things, support the health and proper functioning of the digestive system. These “good” bacteria occur naturally in the human body and in power foods like yogurt, dark chocolate and miso soup. Just as antibiotics are taken to inhibit harmful bacteria, supplemental probiotics are taken to encourage the growth and action of good bacteria.
Although the benefits of probiotics have been understood by science for more than a century, it has been only over the past 20 years that health and wellness advocates have been intentional about introducing these helpful bacteria into nutritional supplements.
One of the earliest discoveries demonstrating that bacteria can improve human health was made by Dr. Metchnikoff, a Russian scientist, in 1907. Since then, there have been favorable reports about probiotics’ utility, including, for example, that lactobacillus acidophilus reduces colon cancer in humans. The ability of probiotics to boost the immune system in general has also been studied.
In 2011, Yale University reviewed the research on probiotics. It concluded that probiotics are most effective for (but not limited to) treating: childhood diarrhea, ulcerative colitis, and necrotizing enterocolitis (a type of infection and inflammation of the intestines mostly seen in infants). It has also been shown to prevent antibiotic-associated diarrhea and infectious diarrhea, pouchitis (an inflammation of the intestines that can follow intestinal surgery), and eczema associated with cow’s milk allergy. Probiotics are also used to treat symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, vaginitis, and Crohn’s disease.
GH Solutions develops formulations incorporating probiotics that can mitigate digestive problems in existing health and wellness products, and can increase the efficacy and uptake of supplemental nutrition and nutraceuticals as well.
Committed to helping you incorporate the benefits of hemp
Hemp is one of the oldest plants to be cultivated by man—and for good reason. Its versatility is astounding. While hemp is used to manufacture paper, textiles, construction materials, plastics, and even biofuels our interest is in the oils refined from hemp seed.
A non-psychoactive form of cannabis—hemp is genetically distinct from marijuana. The hemp oils we use are legal in every US jurisdiction.
Hemp oil is an abundant source of alpha-linolenic acid. Alpha-linolenic acid is an omega-3 fatty acid, essential to proper organ function. It is similar to the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil, which can help prevent heart disease, arthritis and depression, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. It can also help reduce low density lipoprotein cholesterol, the “bad” cholesterol that clogs arteries.
Hemp oil can be used for the treatment of minor health ailments and as a dietary supplement for the promotion of general good health. Hemp oil is considered one of the most useful natural supplements for the body due to its ability to provide several fatty acids that humans cannot manufacture on our own.
GH Solutions believes that the hemp oil and hydrolyzed hemp proteins, coupled with the proper probiotics, will greatly assist and improve the overall health and wellbeing of humans as well as animals.
Cannabidiol or CBD is a naturally occurring substance found in hemp plants. CBD oil is non-psychoactive and is actively being researched and applied in a number of therapeutic contexts, including Dravet Syndrome, multiple sclerosis, depression, and schizophrenia. CBD’s use in animal health care is already widespread.
Considering the broad spectrum of uses for CBD, GH Solutions’ future plans include developing and producing formulations to enhance the speed and effectiveness of CBD’s many benefits.
