If insiders are buying stock, shouldn´t you be buying?
If insiders are buying shares in their own companies, they usually
know something that normal investors do not. They buy because they
see a merger, acquisition or great earnings ahead or simply because
they think their stock is undervalued.
Peter Lynch, the former manager of the Magellan Fund, has noted that
insiders might sell their shares for any number of reasons, but they
buy them for only one: they think the price will rise. That is why I
really believe that following the insiders path can lead you to
enormous profits in the stock market.

-------------------------------------------------
The Bottomlinestock's Stock Pick of the Day Contest
Enjoy the spirit of competition...put your skills up against those of other members. Experience the thrill of victory! Endure the agony of defeat! No real money is involved, so you can try as crazy an idea as you like. Find a hot stock that you think is ready to move today, cross your fingers and watch the market run it. Who knows what will work today? Regardless of the performance of the market as a whole there are always individual stocks that do well -- or poorly. And that makes for excitement.
Bottomlinestocks is an educational site and all of our services are 100% free. It is our hope that all members (participants and those lurking in the background) might learn something too. Since we encourage the education of our membership, we ask that participants include some due diligence with their pick. This could be some technical analysis, a charting pattern, or news.
Watch how the markets work. Watch the reaction of the markets and individuals stocks to changing circumstances in the financial, economic, and political worlds. It’s always more fun when you have a stake in events.
Good Luck!
====================================================
Rules:
1. Winner will be determined by the largest positive percentage gain based on the day's close versus the closing price the previous day.
2. There are no prizes. Bragging rights only. A daily post will congratulate the winner and summarize the results of all participants.
3. One entry per member per day. All entries must be posted by 9:30a.m. Eastern for that day’s contest.
4. Stock prices must be at least $.50 based on the previous day close. No upper limit.
5. In order to easily identify a participant's post we require the following format in the subject line of the post:
Symbol - Security name - date of play mm.dd.
Example: KKD - Krispy Kreme Donuts - 08.09
The body of the message should contain the due diligence as to why you think this will move today. Again, this could be some technical analysis, a charting pattern, or news.
6. First come, first serve...if more than one member chooses the same stock, they will need to change it or be disqualified for the day.
7. The official site for pricing results shall be http://www.quotemedia.com/results.php

EAG - $0.77 - I guess the Insiders know something we don't.
As one artice puts it;
If insiders are buying stock, shouldn´t you be buying?
If insiders are buying shares in their own companies, they usually know something that normal investors do not. They buy because they see a merger, acquisition or great earnings ahead or simply because they think their stock is undervalued.
Peter Lynch, the former manager of the Magellan Fund, has noted that insiders might sell their shares for any number of reasons, but they buy them for only one: they think the price will rise. That is why I really believe that following the insiders path can lead you to enormous profits in the stock market.

*My order will fill if the stock starts up at the open.

( PTN ) FDA Approves NeutroSpec(TM) Imaging Agent to Help Detect Difficult-to-Diagnose Cases of Appendicitis
Tuesday July 6, 8:25 am ET
Provides Rapid, Safe, And Simple Diagnosis Of Appendicitis
ST. LOUIS, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Mallinckrodt, a business unit of Tyco Healthcare, announced today that the company and its strategic collaboration partner, Palatin Technologies, Inc., Cranbury, N.J., received approval from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to market and distribute NeutroSpec, a new imaging agent to help diagnose cases of appendicitis in patients 5 years and older with atypical symptoms. NeutroSpec was formerly referred to as LeuTech® in clinical trials and articles.
NeutroSpec enables physicians to rapidly diagnose appendicitis in cases without straightforward symptoms, eliminating delays and risks often associated with other imaging agents and modalities. Ninety percent of the positive appendicitis cases in the NeutroSpec Phase 3 clinical trial were diagnosed within one hour. (1)
Frederick Weiland, M.D., FACNP, co-director of Nuclear Medicine at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Sacramento, Calif, noted that about half of the 700,000 patients in the United States with suspected appendicitis each year lack typical symptoms, such as pain and tenderness in the right lower abdomen, fever, nausea, and elevated white blood cell count.
"There are many causes of abdominal pain, and it can be difficult to differentiate appendicitis from other causes," Dr. Weiland stated. "In addition, other non-invasive tests to diagnose appendicitis, such as spiral CT with contrast, are not available everywhere and can be difficult to perform and interpret. If a diagnosis of appendicitis is missed, there can be significant medical consequences such as perforation of the appendix and peritonitis (acute inflammation of the membrane lining of the abdominal cavity)."
Dr. Weiland added that 10 to 20 percent of all appendix surgeries, or appendectomies, are unnecessary because the appendix turns out to be normal. By helping physicians rapidly and accurately diagnose appendicitis, NeutroSpec has the potential to lower healthcare costs and shorten patient recovery by reducing unnecessary surgery.
He also indicates that, "NeutroSpec is easy to read. The vast experience of physicians familiar with reading other Tc 99m based infection imaging agents will find the learning curve to be minimal. A NeutroSpec procedure can be successfully executed on any gamma camera and does not require high tech imaging equipment or computer support."
Benefits of NeutroSpec include:
-- Rapid diagnosis. Ninety-eight percent of the positive appendicitis
cases in the NeutroSpec Phase 3 clinical trial were diagnosed within
one hour after injection. Other radiopharmaceuticals can take hours
longer.
-- Safety. No serious adverse reactions occurred with NeutroSpec during
the Phase 3 trial. The most frequently reported adverse reactions were
flushing (3.6 percent of patients) and shortness of breath (1.4
percent of patients). Unlike other imaging agents, NeutroSpec requires
no blood handling, which greatly reduces potential cross-contamination
issues.
-- Ease of use. NeutroSpec is provided in a quick and easy prep kit. No
additional equipment is needed and, in most cases, NeutroSpec will be
available as a unit dose injection.
NeutroSpec is a radiolabeled monoclonal antibody -- Technetium (99m Tc) fanolesomab -- that binds to white blood cells, which localize at infection sites. When injected into a patient's bloodstream, NeutroSpec radiolabels white blood cells and myeloid precursors with a radioactive tracer. This enables a physician to quickly locate the site of infection with images generated by a gamma camera in a hospital's Nuclear Medicine department.
NeutroSpec is different because it is an in vivo product -- it radiolabels white blood cells inside the body -- while other white blood cell imaging agents are ex vivo products. With ex vivo white blood cell radiolabeling, a patient's blood is withdrawn, transported to a radiopharmacy, labeled with a radioactive tracer, returned to the hospital and re-injected in the patient. This takes far longer and poses potential blood-handling safety risks.
While NeutroSpec is currently approved for use only in detecting difficult-to-diagnose appendicitis, Phase 2 studies using NeutroSpec to diagnose osteomyelitis, or bone infection, have been conducted. The results have been published in The Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery in January 2003 and in Radiology in June 2002. Additional Phase 2 studies are underway for the imaging and detection of other infections, such as fever of unknown origin, post-surgical abscesses, and inflammatory bowel disease.
"We are excited about improving the current standard of care for difficult-to-diagnose cases of appendicitis. Using NeutroSpec will assist in providing more accurate diagnoses, decreasing unnecessary surgeries and reducing the risk of perforation," said Steve Hanley, president, Mallinckrodt Imaging. "This is consistent with our mission to provide state-of-the-art healthcare products that improve the diagnosis and treatment of disease."
Carl Spana, president and CEO, Palatin Technologies, said, "Palatin is very pleased that FDA has approved NeutroSpec for the indication of equivocal appendicitis in patients 5 years of age and older. This approval is not only a significant milestone for both Mallincrockdt and Palatin Technologies but also a significant development for the nuclear medicine community. Palatin Technologies looks forward to working with Mallincrockdt to effectively launch NeutroSpec."
Mallinckrodt and Palatin entered into an agreement in 1999 for Mallinckrodt to exclusively market and distribute NeutroSpec throughout the world, except in Europe, through its distribution center in Maryland Heights, MO and network of U.S. radiopharmacies.

The coon that was in the trap bared it's teeth at me when I was trying to open the door to release him. He was a big one too...from feasting on all that corn, I guess. ;)
I don't leave pet food out but I had a coon not long ago who was coming in and eating bird seed that had dropped from my feeders. We found him on the road one morning. Shortly after that we saw a very young fawn. I'm sure we'll find the Mama next.
One morning, very early... about 2 months ago, I happened to look out of my window and saw a huge buck just lying beside one of my flower beds...he seemed to be looking right at me. A short distance away was a doe...peacefully grazing. We watched them for at least 20 minutes...they were so beautiful. Then something spooked them and they ran towards the road...I held my breath listening for the screech of brakes and the inevitable thump. Sure enuff...I heard it. I ran up to the road...still in my robe...the buck was killed instantly but the doe held on for about 2 minutes. Three cars had hit them. Early morning traffic here is horrendus.
I wish there was a way to relocate the deer. I know the Lakeway area in Austin had a relocation program a couple of years ago...it was very expensive. The deer were relocated to a ranch in Mexico...supposedly they would help the people there as a meat source plus help the citizens of Lakeway.
Then someone found out that the ranch owner just wanted to stock his land with the deer to attract paying customers from the States who only wanted a trophy. Go figure!
I caught two coons in one trap today. A customer complained of a coon, comming in at night, raiding her pet feeder, she said the raccoon would sometimes take the feeder and throw it into the swimming pool, knock over her plants on the patio, she said the coons would even go swimming in the moonlight, she stated she didn't want it hurt, she just wanted it gone.
First night went by and we didn't catch anything, it was raining, and coons don't seem to be to active in rainy weather.
Next day, the coon closed both trap doors, I asked the lady if the small dab of peanut butter that had I put just inside the door about a foot was missing, and she said yes is was cleaned up. I told her the coon had reached in and was so big it caused the door to shut and it backed out. I asked her if she would take a piece of break, quarter it, put peanut butter on a piece and put it back further in the trap about a foot and a half, she agreed and we hung up. This morning she called and said we got the coon.
I arrived at her house about 8:15AM, since my coon traps are enclosed, I stook the trap up and tried to get a peek thru the tiny slits in the door, U saw a large coon asleep in the trap. I told her this maybe was the biggest coon I have ever caught, seemed like the coon and trap weighed over 60 lbs, you could hardly lift it, it nearly bent the carrying handle. I also noticed the coon was taking up about 2/3 of the trap, I told the lady this coon is huge, she commented that the one she saw was of average size. I shook my head and headed for the truck.
I put the trap on the back of my truck and headed for a release site, when I opened the door a little I hooked a clothes hanger on the door so I could get clear, since I have had coons come out of the traps and head straight for me.
To my surprise, two coons of average size, trotted out of the trap and into the bushes, that explained the weight. I called the customer and she couldn't beleive that I caught two coons in one trap, since she always just saw one. Strange things happen in my world.
Just another day on the job,

Good Morning, Tex...I'm glad to hear that.
Last summer I offered to water a friend's garden while he was on vacation...he lived about 3 miles out of the city limits.
He told me coons had been getting his corn and he'd put out a trap using a can of cat food as bait. This is a man who loves to plant ...but hates to pick or harvest the results and lets over half of it rot or go to seed.
Anyway, sure enuff I found a huge raccoon in the trap one morning. There was no way I was going to let that animal die a slow death under a hot sun so I tried to release him...didn't have the strength to open the door tho so I started looking for a man to help me.
That's another story, however. LOL Suffice it to say, I found one and he helped free the coon.
I decided I didn't want to be friends with that sorry human being anymore and ended the friendship.
Heey, heey heey ... !
Good Question NovoMira;
They are transported inside a humane trap and released outside the city limits near a water source.

Hi Trapper...I've been wanting to ask you many questions about wild life ever since Larry told me about your board. I have it and you membermarked...and I will return as soon as I solve some issues I'm having with a new TV.
In the meantime, may I ask what you do with the skunks you trap?
I may have need of one.
(just kidding ;)
BTW...I live in SouthCentral Texas...close to Austin.
It is also hard for terrapins to find places to lay their eggs. They like to lay their eggs in holes on the sandy or muddy beach or near brackish water.
You should NEVER bother a turtle laying eggs! And you should be especially careful not to touch the eggs. Turtle eggs aren’t like chicken eggs. If you turn a turtle egg over, the baby turtle inside will probably suffocate and die. So don’t touch the eggs! The eggs hatch in 9 to 15 weeks.
Terrapins are state regulated, and can live for 25-40 years.
Diamondback terrapin nests are depredated by skunks, raccoons and foxes. Upon emerging from the nest, young hatchlings are often eaten by gulls, crows and black-crowned night-herons.

Don't stay away toooo long, Trapper .....
Like your pics page. Thought a Wildlife Q&A board would be a benefit to a lot of people. There are many myths surrounding animals. I handle live skunks on a daily basis and have never been sprayed, they are very docile animals. I expect we will get off to a slow start, and then when the animal lovers find out about this site we will be busy. I love my trade, and have come to respect Wildlife in a big way. They are part of our world. Hope you stick around skeballlarry. I am pretty busy running my business, but I hope to get a lot of useful Animal Links up soon. Any ideas or suggestions on advertising this page?
Take care,
TxTrapper
