re >> US Economy Facing 'Death by a Thousand Cuts': Roubini <<~~ as we can see the 912 Unite march, Americans are now starting to understand how the nation is robbed using financial markets and Treasury, slowly discerning market hype and commercial brain wash.
Trillions of funds are in the markets and waiting for Americans to spend and to spend until all going bankrupt; however, it is not so.
Double recession or triple dip recession is a good thing in a long run until Americans are waken up from spending-death spiral. The 912 is just a beginning for Americans' real hope for future. / Economy, Recession ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Repeating his prediction that the economy faces a threat of a "double-dip" recession and at best a slow-growth U-shaped recovery, Roubini said in a live interview that more banks will fail and residential real estate prices have more room to decline.

re >> Treasurys Are the Next Bubble: Rogers <<~~ Many are now aware of billions and trillions are literally stolen from Treasury. Of course, bubbling up commodities using hype made Rogers to get billions off of American sheepsters, and now, being like a traitor of America moved to Asia to protect his money. Who would be falling into billionaire bag pigs. Would he have any conscience to deceive money out of Americans using hype even when millions are going bankrupt and the nation is in a mountain of debt. The greed made hell for many around the world. The traitors of Americans and America robbed Americans and Treasury for decades using all kinds of deception, and still pouncing on hype.

The bulging US government debt can turn into an investment opportunity, legendary investor Jim Rogers, chairman of Rogers Holdings, told CNBC Monday.
"What (investors) should do is worry about all the debt developing in the US. They should short bonds because that's the next bubble that's building in the US," he said.
"I own basically commodities where the fundamentals are getting better… I own particularly the yen and the Swiss franc. I don't own many stocks, only in China."
"For one of the few times in my life, I don't have any shorts," he said.

re Obama to Discuss Unwinding of Bank Industry Help <<~~ Obama - would he be just another money puppet as Americans have been defraud during the last decades? ~~~

U.S. President Barack Obama will discuss the winding down of the government's involvement in the financial sector in a wide-ranging speech on Monday in which he will try to reinvigorate stalled legislation on regulatory reform.
An administration official, who previewed the speech, said it would also include a call for global coordination to prevent future financial crises.
In the remarks scheduled for 12:10 p.m. EDT, he will also urge Wall Street firms to take responsibility and avoid the kind of reckless behavior that led to the 2008-2009 financial chaos.
Obama's remarks coincide with the anniversary of the collapse of Lehman Brothers that triggered the global contagion.
"President Obama will discuss the administration's plan to wind down government involvement in the financial sector, lay out a strong case for immediate action on regulatory reform and reiterate the importance of global coordination in preventing future crises," the official said.
"He will also urge the financial community to take responsibility, not only to support reforming the regulatory system but also to avoid a return to the practices on Wall Street that led us to the financial crisis, and to recognize their obligation to help produce a wider recovery on behalf of the American people," the official said.

The speech will be held at the historic Federal Hall in the heart of Wall Street. Among those in the audience will be the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board, which is led by former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker.

Glenn Beck's '912 Project' draws a crowd to Capitol
By David Burger
Updated:09/12/2009 07:18:13 PM MDT
More than 1,500 people gathered Saturday morning on the Utah Capitol lawn to participate in a rally supporting the "912 Project," a movement promoted by conservative TV talk show host Glenn Beck that he says seeks to recreate the sense of unity that Americans felt the day after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Despite claims to be a nonpartisan effort, speakers such as Rep. Jason Chaffetz and Gayle Ruzicka, president of the Utah Eagle Forum, spoke to a crowd that was loudly critical of President Barack Obama's administration and his allies in the Democrat-controlled Congress.
"This is one of the most American things you can do," Chaffetz, Utah 3rd District Republican, told the crowd as he spoke in front of a white bus emblazoned with the slogan "American Liberty Tour." "I'm as fired up as I've ever been."
Ruzicka told the crowd to "take back the Republican party ... [and] take back America by working together."
"I remember a country I would love to see again," said Rep. Carl Wimmer, R-Herriman, as he spoke about the day after 9/11, when he said Democrats and Republicans shared a sense of purpose and unity and all Americans were patriotic.
Saturday's assembly was tied to similar 912 events across the nation that included a march by tens of thousands of people on the nation's Capitol with Beck broadcasting live.
Craig Axford, deputy director of the Utah Democratic Party, was not at the rally but said afterward that these types of events are not unifying, but divisive.
"Simply bashing the president and pulling out red herrings like socialism is not constructive," he said. He added that Beck's attempts to call these events nonpartisan "insults everyone's intelligence."
Other speakers at Saturday's rally included Lew Uhler of the Calfornia-based National Tax-Limitation Committee and another man who recited the entire Declaration of Independence from memory. The convocation included a blessing for Beck.
Ken Pearson, of Riverton, said he came to the rally because he didn't agree with the direction the United States was going and that the government was encroaching on states' rights. "The government is now reaching into areas of commerce and the private sector that they don't belong," he said.
Some in the crowd wore patriotic hats and Constitutional Congress-era outfits, many waved banners that read "Don't Tread on Me," and signs that said:
» I disagree with Barack Obama because he's 100 percent Socialist ... Not because he's 50 percent black!
» Man made global warming is a hoax
» Abort Obama, not babies
» No New Spending -- No Cap & Trade -- No Government Health Care
Some of the speakers' comments were directed at the president's call for health care reform. The name of Rep. Joe Wilson, R-South Carolina, who yelled "You lie" during the president's speech before Congress Wednesday, drew cheers. "I know Joe Wilson," Chaffetz said. "Joe Wilson is a friend of mine."

Tea party movement has anger, no dominant leaders
By Jim Spellman
CNN
Aboard the Tea Party Express (CNN) -- From the stage, Deborah Johns is the angry conscience of the tea party movement.
"Question everything your government is doing," she tells a crowd of about 100 from the bus's stage in the parking lot of the Winners casino in Winnemucca, Nevada.
Under a setting sun on the steps of the state capitol in Little Rock, Arkansas, Johns says: "Our men and women took an oath when they put on the uniform to defend and protect this country from enemies both foreign and domestic. I think we've got some domestic enemies in the White House."
On a sunny afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky, Johns works the crowd of about 2,000 into a frenzy.
"The men and women in our military didn't fight and die for this country for a communist in the White House," she says, and the crowd erupts in a chant of "U-S-A, U-S-A!" VideoWatch rally participants converge on Washington »
On the bus, Johns slips off her heels and slips on a pair of ankle socks. She curls up under a quilt her grandmother made. She favors skirts and cardigans -- a pit bull in cashmere.
She leads the rallies in each city with Mark Williams, a former talk radio host who now writes books and makes the rounds on cable TV chat shows. Both work for Our Country Deserves Better, the conservative political action committee sponsoring the Tea Party Express bus tour.
The tour concluded Saturday at the U.S. Capitol in Washington after a 34-stop tour that began August 28 in Sacramento, California.
Williams is the showman of the bunch. His signature line when he gets the mic goes like this: "You can have our country when you pry it from our ... cold ... dead ... fingers!" Again the crowd erupts. VideoWatch scenes from Tea Party Express rallies »
Seldom seen on stage are the two gurus of the tea party movement, veteran politico Sal Russo and his protégé, Joe Wierzbicki. They are charged with turning the passion on display at the tea parties into political action.
They have three goals: Defeat President Obama's health care reform efforts, win back the House and Senate in 2010 and take the White House in 2012.
Russo grew up in a house full of working-class Democrats in Monterey, California, and nearly gave his father a heart attack when he became a Republican. His first paid gig in politics was working for Ronald Reagan's 1966 California gubernatorial campaign, and he has worked in conservative politics ever since.
Russo often watches the raucous tea party events from his perch in the bus. Besides Johns and Williams each event features several musical acts and featured speakers.
The crowd is its own sideshow. Tea partyers are a creative lot, and many in the crowd express themselves by way of their clothing and signs. PhotoSee some of the getups and signs »
"Obamacare Condense Cream of Crap soup" reads a sign in Sparks, Nevada. In Dallas, Texas, a darker mood prevails. A homemade sign with "Obama Lies" features a bold, black swastika.
As the tour moves on, Nazi imagery becomes more prominent -- and sometimes confused. One sign at the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, has Obama's portrait sandwiched between pictures of Adolf Hitler and communist philosopher Karl Marx. In Canton,Ohio, Obama and Hitler adorn a sign reading "Hitler made great speeches, too."
In Elko, Nevada, over a Basque supper of oxtail, lamb and sweetbreads, Russo assesses the tea party movement.
"There are some people who are mad at everyone," he says, "but there are others who say, 'How do we move beyond this and turn it into action?'"
Rare is the conversation with Russo in which he doesn't bring up the name of his idol and one-time boss, Ronald Reagan. But if there is a Reagan out there to take the reins of the tea party movement, Russo doesn't know who that person is.
"It's opened for a leader. I don't see anyone out there that can grab it," he says. "I'll be surprised if someone emerges. I don't see who that is."
Many in the crowd hope former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will emerge as the leader of the movement, "but she has so many negatives," Russo says.
If the tea party movement has an architect, it is Joe Wierzbicki. Unassuming in wrinkled khakis and a polo shirt, he is in near perpetual motion. Hands gesturing wildly through the air, he describes his plan.
"There are going to be stops along the way. The first stop is going to be the health care reform act," he says.
If the tea partyers can play a part in stopping the president's health care efforts they will be poised for a much bigger challenge: taking control of Congress from the Democrats, he says.
"Those politicians that aren't responsive to this message are going to face a lot of trouble in their re-election bids in 2010," he says.
That the tea party movement has no leader at this point is just fine with Wierzbicki. He says right now the movement is centered on a few key issues: taxes, expansion and distrust of Obama.
"If there was a leader there might be a divisive factor," he says.
In Wierzbicki's plan, the movement doesn't need a leader until after the 2010 election.
"From then to 2012 is probably the period of time when you'll find a big national leader that will emerge that the majority of the people in this movement will feel comfortable following," he says.
No one on the tea party express seems concerned with the vocal fringe of the crowds that come with offensive signs -- besides Nazi imagery, a poster of Obama as an African witch doctor has become popular -- or the numerous conspiracy theories that float around most tea parties.
In Battle Creek, Michigan, a woman in her 60s says, "I really don't want to be a guinea pig for the experiment they have with the population control." In Canton, Ohio, a woman argues with an Obama supporter: "He's going after our kids to try to indoctrinate them into a national defense army."
The Tea Party Express tour has been free of violence, but occasional outbursts of vitriolic hatred toward the president combined with some menacing outward appearances often overshadow the more moderate tea partyers. iReport.com: Weigh in on health care
In Louisville, Kentucky, two young men in camouflage fatigues roamed the crowd trying to recruit new members for their militia called the Ohio Valley Freedom Fighters. They bear signs reading "AK-47s: today's pitchfork" and "Quit worrying. Start your militia training today."
In Jackson, Michigan, a young man didn't need a sign. He was carrying the real thing: A loaded AK-47 assault rifle and two loaded handguns.
"I don't want a revolution. I don't want a civil war," he said. "But it is a possibility. It's there as an option, as a last resort."
From the stage, Deborah Johns and Mark Williams never interact with most of these characters. Russo shrugs it off, saying that the early stages of every political movement have people like this.
To Wierzbicki these troubling elements are just part of the price of a grassroots movement. He is convinced they will not derail the movement. http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/09/12/tea.party.express/index.html
~*~ Prayer for the 912 Unite ~*~ march in Washington ~*~
Almighty GOD, lead and guide us to accomplish Your Will through us as the Americans are gathering together to seek our liberty in Your Name and to seek our liberty to worship You without oppression.
We pray that Your Power will guide and protect us so that Your Glory will be lifted and so that Your Power will be manifested through the 912 event. Lord, our GOD Almighty, we call on You because You are Almighty God and nothing is impossible for You. When we honestly seek Your Will, Your Divine Power will protect us. We seek Your Divine Protection throughout the 912 event that Your Glorious Hand will guide us. As we go through final week before the event, I pray that You will help each one of us to spread the word so that You can work through us to achieve Your Goals in our lives. This country is built on believing in You and when we live away from You, we become gradually desolate as we can see that our nation is increasingly becoming slaves of debt. The mammon is slaving and oppressing Americans to serve the idol, but in the end, we are destroyed because of national debt slavery. Lord our GOD, help us to free from the bondage and to seek the freedom to worship You and to live according to Your Will. Praise GOD.
May the Lord our GOD be with us. Amen
I am not sure what % of muslims believe that Jesus is not the Messiah, but it is certainly arrogance to claim that they know 100% of the Will of GOD. Jesus said to do the Will of the Father. Muslims claiming to know 100% of the Will of the Father is certainly not the Will of GOD. Christians believe in the MONOTHEISM in Trinity -- God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Disagreement is understandable, however, condemning based on that they know 100% of the Will of GOD is unacceptable. Who knows 100% of the Will of the Father?

~~*~~ 912 Unite ~~*~~ Get involved and educated. Find a 9/12 Event Near You!
~*~ 912 Unite ~*~ 9/11, Today, you are already aware, is the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Tomorrow, you may or may not be aware, is the date of Glenn Beck's 9/12 Project, which the Fox News host will be marking with a live-TV event in Washington, and which he announced in March in an effort to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001. The day after America was attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States, or political parties. We were united as Americans...
You can make your own judgments about the platform of Nine Principles and Twelve Values that Beck has tied to the anniversary of a heinous mass murder. But as someone who happened to be in New York City eight years ago today, the implicit premise of the 9-12 Project—that those who aren't on Beck's side must have somehow "forgotten" 9/11 and its aftermath—ticks me off royally and personally.
I was at home in Brooklyn, holding my six-week-old baby on the couch, when I saw the second plane crash into the World Trade Center on TV. I watched the smoking pit of the ruins from the roof of my apartment building as bits of memo paper and ash drifted on the winds to my neighborhood. I was there on 9/11, and 9/12, and 9/13. You'll excuse me if I don't feel warm nostalgia for the lingering smell of burnt airplane fuel, and metal, and bodies.
Nor, of course, does Beck. What he purportedly wants is to bring back our feeling of "unity." I remember that feeling. After 9/11, I remember hardcore liberal New Yorkers rallying behind Rudy Giuliani, saying nice things about President Bush when he spoke at the WTC ruins. I remember thousands of American flags being flown out of apartment and brownstone windows, not as political statements or in the you-better-prove-your-patriotism spirit of flag pins and Freedom Fries, but simply because we felt we Americans were all in this together.
So since March, what has Glenn Beck been doing to re-establish that sense of nonpartisan national brotherhood? Calling President Obama a racist, declaring that the government was bringing fascism upon us, asking his fans to dig up dirt on political figures he doesn't like, and predicting civil-war-like uprisings. Because that's how you bring people together.
None of us have a unique claim on the meaning of 9/11, or 9/12. The fact that I was in New York on 9/11 does not make my views about anything that's happened since more valid than anyone else's. (If you were in Montana on 9/11, your views are just as legitimate as mine.) Millions of us were here, and we drew millions of different lessons from that day.
New York being a Blue city, of course, millions of those people disagree with Glenn Beck. But that does not mean that those New Yorkers—or Washington D.C. residents—have "forgotten" 9/12, or 9/11. Believe me, we damn well wish we could forget.
You want to bring back the feeling of national unity and civility, Glenn Beck? You could start by not using this tragedy as your personal political platform.

Greenspan era defraud: Top 1 Percent of Americans Reaped Two-Thirds of Income Gains in Last Economic Expansion
http://www.cbpp.org/cms/index.cfm?fa=view&id=2908
Income Concentration in 2007 Was at Highest Level Since 1928,
New Analysis Shows
Two-thirds of the nation’s total income gains from 2002 to 2007 flowed to the top 1 percent of U.S. households, and that top 1 percent held a larger share of income in 2007 than at any time since 1928, according to an analysis of newly released IRS data by economists Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez.[1]
During those years, the Piketty-Saez data also show, the inflation-adjusted income of the top 1 percent of households grew more than ten times faster than the income of the bottom 90 percent of households.
The last economic expansion began in November 2001 and ended in December 2007, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research, which means the Piketty-Saez data essentially cover that expansion. The last time such a large share of the income gain during an expansion went to the top 1 percent of households — and such a small share went to the bottom 90 percent of households — was in the 1920s (see Figure 1). [2]
President Obama’s national health care agenda is big, bad, and bold. It is also better in various important respects than what we have currently. However, it is fatally flawed. The seriousness of the flaws outweighs the plan’s efficacies and virtues. As a result, the U.S. Congress should reject this legislation and address the fact that the nation consumes too much expensive but ineffectual health care.
Prepare for profound government growth and a shrinking private sector apart from health care. It won’t be long until the majority of our economy is staked on deficient education, ineffectual health care, predatory financial services, big bureaucracy, monetary redistribution, imperialist defense and surveillance style homeland security. We will be highly dependent upon foreigners for much of the rest, weakened by excessive immigration, debt and hedonistic habits. We are the new Rome at the old sunset, our tipping point reached, symbolically perhaps, in April 2008 when world population reached 6.66 billion (per www.About.com).
The $900 billion Obama national health care plan is essentially bailout number two – this time for a failed Medical Street. Like the Wall Street bailout, Congress will make wrong choices because the pressure to act is great and there is no momentum for a wise alternative. The Republican options simply cater to a different set of special interests. The common good cannot be well served when both sides are endeavoring to grease the palms of key constituencies.
Our nation needs to move beyond a polarized debate and investigate this policy crossroads. Obama pledges a revenue neutral plan, but that idea is as specious as the one a decade ago that projected massive federal surpluses far into the future. Today’s economists have a knack for looking through dark glass and seeing whatever they want. It is an age of delusions as evident in religion, education, sex, consumerism and speculation. So, what can we expect from politics when it is front-loaded with vested interests?
President Obama’s national health care speech on Sept. 9 was eloquent and stirring, but not equal to the best presidential speeches of the pre-television era – speeches written by statesmen and articulated without teleprompters. We are left hoping that an elocution that matched some of President Reagan’s best performances does not prove to conceal such seriously errant projections as camouflaged by Reagan’s oratorical skills. Reagan did not anticipate the enlargement of debt generated by his supply side initiatives. Nevertheless, it was that debt that pulled the nation toward unsustainable economic growth.
While the Obama camp shows political adeptness in moving away from some of the discredited language of universal health care, Americans are left with important questions. One key question is this: How can an administration dramatically expand societal access to “get as much as you can take” medical care while maintaining care quality, choice in accessing preferred providers, and a reduction in national health care expenditures? Like the old saw goes: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. We’re still experiencing fallout from the previously fashionable idea that housing values take a one-way trip up.
There is so much to be enjoyed in life that many people will pull out all the stops to get every bit of technologically advanced medical care they can obtain for themselves and loved ones. Since care costs are often socialized, little conscience is left about the intemperate use of health care benefits. Indeed, doctors and hospitals have little incentive to consider the alternative costs of societal expenditures on health care, especially in an environment where it is unfashionable to put any limitations on the value of an American life. Granted, there is an ethical reality here that deserves exploration as well as a cost and benefit equation. However, both considerations rest outside the typical range of politically viable dialogue.
The cold truth is that medical technology and drug innovation has outstripped the nation’s ability to pay for everyone to experience “the full health care life.” The political rhetoric is that in a rich nation, no one should have to go without health care. Granted, we can’t afford to give everyone a McMansion, a Mercedes Benz, and a month on a Parisian holiday. But, dang, if some people don’t shout “social injustice” at the mere vocalized doubt of whether every American can be afforded a government checkbook if their health heads downhill.
According to data at Bankrate.com, the Federal Reserve estimated the median American HOUSEHOLD net worth at about $86,000 shortly before the financial crisis struck (2007). While the median value is less than the average, we’re left with the problem of how to give EVERYONE full quality end-of-life medical care when that care involves at least five times greater costs then encountered before the last year of life. Indeed, at a time that financial advisors are encouraging well-heeled couples to put aside several hundred thousand dollars to pay for Medigap insurance premiums, is anyone considering where this kind of money comes from? Should the nation’s entire net equity be consumed on health care? Obviously, something must give.
A hospital can generate $150,000 of services for a heart patient, only to release in many cases a person whose days are numbered. It is a lot easier to spend $150,000 on medical treatment for an ailing body than to manufacture and install $150,000 of solar power equipment. With treatments running several thousand dollars a pop, a needle stick here and a few pills there can quickly add up to more than the cost of a student’s university education. Where should a nation’s priorities be when human bodies are BORN TO DIE and health care has invented countless ways to make the dying process infinitely expensive?
The raw truth is that nationalized health care in its planning stages is a far-reaching tax scheme that rewards moral hazard and redistributes wealth. (The current insurance environment is even less defensible!) Those who carefully maintain their health through self-discipline and moderate lifestyles must subsidize the behavioral proclivities of those who put a premium on intemperately maximizing self-gratification or foolishly failing to demonstrate basic competency in self care. How does this strategy build national greatness? Indeed, we will soon tax the families of those who die courageously (i.e., without heroic measures to prolong degraded life) so we can do homage to those who expect others to subsidize their inability to let go.
If people want to prolong their largely unsustainable lives by every means on their own earned dime, that’s their business. But when they take government money (other people’s labors) and exploit medical technology to do it, that’s social injustice – regardless of whether they’re rich or poor.
President Obama is correct in arguing that something must be done to mitigate risks that people face of being wiped out financially when a simple medical procedure in a hospital turns into a six-figure trauma due to a surgical infection or complications. Middle class lifetime savings should not be risked by stepping through a hospital door. We need a new generation of medical practitioners who can provide low cost services that are both physiologically effectual and affordable to working class people. This means moving away from the ‘pop-a-pill’ regime to a holistic medical philosophy that allowed many of our responsible grandparents to live fairly full lives into their 80s and 90s, and with relatively little medical intervention. In short, we are well-advised to resize the health care sector from 16% to 10% of GDP, while trimming the federal government’s role from over 30% of GDP to less than 20%. Properly designed, government need not be big to be effectual.
Let’s applaud President Obama for recognizing the social injustice of combining high cost medical care for simple procedures with high cost health insurance. But let’s also applaud those who insist that a reformation of lifestyle choices, dietary habits and reproductive assumptions must rationally accompany successful reform of health care. There must be rewards for those who succeed in doing good and penalties for those who slack off.
We’ll get change shortly, rest assured. We’ll also pay dearly for the changes just as we pay exorbitantly for our current madness. At least with the change we’ll be out of the fire and into the frying pan – whatever that’s worth. -- Dr Benevolence

Geithner Tells Town Hall: 'We Have to Change Things'
Posted By: Jeff Cox | CNBC.com

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner offered a spirited defense of the government's efforts to forestall another Great Depression but cautioned that the recovery would be slow and painful.
"We understood how bad this was—how damaging this was—and we did things that people were incredibly critical of because we knew that this was getting away from us," Geithner told a special CNBC town hall meeting Thursday.
In the wide-ranging session, which took place nearly a year to the day after the failure of Lehman Brothers and the implosion of the nation's financial system, Geithner said the country needs not only to fix what is broken but also take preventive measures against a similar collapse happening again.
"We have to have much stronger rules of the game in place with much stronger constraints on how much risk can take place," he said. "People are so angry. They have had this searing experience that caused so much damage and I think generally people understand that we're going to have to change things. We can't let things go back to the way they were."
Asked whether the Federal Reserve and Treasury acted too slowly when the financial system began collapsing and if it intervened too much once it got involved, Geithner rejected both assertions.
"It feels unfair and unjust, but look at what happens if you take too much risk," he said. "If you indulge the sentiment that you can stall the crisis by teaching people a lesson, you're going to make the crisis dramatically worse and you're going to make it much more expensive to solve."
By the same token, he said the government is anxious to shed itself of stakes in various financial companies—Citigroup and American International Group among others—but won't do so before the timing is right.
"We're going to be careful not to withdraw too soon," Geithner said. "The classic mistake that countries make in crises is they put the brakes on too early, they reignite the recession ultimately at much greater fiscal costs and much greater damage to the economy. That's the balance we've got to get right."
The bailouts for what he called systemically important companies have worked out well so far, at least in terms of return on investment. Of the $200 billion the government has pumped in from a variety of liquidity programs, it has seen a return of $80 billion so far.
"That money goes to reduce how much we have to borrow and it means that we have more resources available to do the necessary things our country needs," he said. "We're getting a pretty good return on those investments so far."
The town hall setting gave Geithner a chance to speak freely just a few hours after he faced a sometimes-hostile round of questioning from the Congressional Oversight Panel in charge of monitoring the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program.
As for the economy, Geithner projected continued high levels of unemployment and tepid growth.
He chose to avoid making definitive statements about whether a tax increase was in the cards to help trim down the deficit. But he reiterated Obama's pledge during a speech to the nation Wednesday night that there would not be a tax hike to pay for health care reform.
"Right now, if you’re worried as most Americans should be about how we’re going to afford these things in the future, how we’re going to get back to a point we’re living in our means, the most important thing now, we can do, is to get this economy back to where we’re growing; where firms are investing again; people are creating jobs again," he said.
"And when we do that, the world needs to understand, Americans need to understand that we’re going to bring those deficits down. And that means we’re going to have to bring our commitments and our resources closer into balance."
Also in keeping with Obama's speech, Geithner used the opportunity to take a few jabs at the Bush administration for overspending.

"We can't ever again do what we did over the last many years, which is to go out and commit to huge expensive tax cuts without paying for them, or to go finance two wars without paying for them, to go finance a huge expansion of Medicare without paying for it," he said.
Setting things right, he said, won't be easy.
"We're going to make progress," he said. "It's not going to be even and quick. I think things are going to feel just hard, unacceptably hard, for a long period of time. But because want to fix this right, it's going to take a while."

It is almost impossible against the greedy demonic mammon power as I have followed the Will of GOD as He led me.
God has to deal with the demonic greedy power.
I thought he helped those who help themselves?
GOD, ALMIGHTY GOD WILL DELIVER JUSTICES!!! Almighty GOD SENT ME, by faith, to deliver the MESSAGE!!
The truth of what happened and who did it is obvious to anyone willing to connect the flashing neon dots.
Finding the people with the courage to do it is where America seem to keep coming up short.
Who do you think did it?
AMERICANS Demand TRUTH ~ MESSAGE TO OBAMA ~ DEMAND TRUTH!!
Murder for MONEY and POWER ~
Many believe, obviously:
1. War against Iraq for revenge of 1990s,
2. 911 to control Americans and hype oil price,
3, Information control using Homeland security for money and power,
4. Control Americans to steal trillions -- by monitoring financial and personal communication, etc.
I saw that earlier today. But what keeps getting left out of most conversations on the subject?

Treason, Betrayal and Deceit: The Road to 9/11 and Beyond
We need to take a hard look at why the mainstream media (MSM) have paid more attention to Sarah Palin’s wardrobe than they have to dissecting blatant falsehoods.
JACKSON, Miss.) - The attacks on September 11, 2001 have been a defining moment for America. Although the losses were not great in terms of urban slaughter during WWII, the political and psychological impact on Americans of a concerted and visible attack in America were enormous — indeed, it is an interesting “coincidence” that the attacks occurred on the one day of the year whose mention reinforces a public sense here of danger and emergency: 9-1-1.
With remarkably little reflection or concern with details and evidence, Americans accepted sweeping restrictions on civil liberties, torture as an instrument of government policy, and waged wars first in Afghanistan and later in Iraq, presumably punishing those who attacked America then or might do so in the future. A similar if less enthusiastic drama is unfolding today, as many of the same parties who brought us 9/11, Afghanistan and Iraq are edging America into confrontation and war with Iran.
Like most Americans, I take a dim view of a fixation on conspiracies. I am also conscious of a remark by a French colleague some years ago to the effect that Europeans saw conspiracies everywhere, but Americans never saw them anywhere, and both were wrong. I am even less enthusiastic about presumed coincidences with global consequences driving policy, or superficial explanations of physical catastrophes that fly in the face of both logic and physical realities. With one war waning today, another getting hotter and a third “in the oven,” it is high time to look hard at what brought us to this place.

Traitor Mobster scam ~ > We will soon be "celebrating" the one-year anniversary of the Lehman collapse. The financial world came to a halt and we stood on the brink. Now, almost a year later, the Treasury sells a bushel of 10-year notes that have a cover bid of 2.77 times ($277 bid for every $100 in bonds offered) and indirect buying (mostly foreign) of 55%. Both metrics greatly exceed recent auctions. On Tuesday, more corporate bonds were offered for sale ($11 billion) than any other day this year. Also on Tuesday, 16 equity offerings were announced. And, the stock market is flirting with a new yearly high. http://www.cnbc.com/id/32776167
