This could possibly be because of the shortage of physical silver available on the free market and the requirement of the mint requiring US mined silver ONLY to be used for minting Eagles. There are actually enough Eagles available on the open market to keep buyers happy without more being injected by the mint. Besides, the mint knows something we don't about the future price of silver, why give it away for $32 an oz when it is going to be $150+ soon?

We have never audited the Federal Reserve nor are gold which they also control.

This privately owned bank created are current crisis and previous ones by lending in excess to flood the economy with money and then pulling cash out of the markets to create a crisis. This is a calculated move to keep the government barrowing more money so the American tax payers are always in debt and these private bankers can keep increasing there power and wealth exponentially.

We can take back control of are government from these private bankers, they don’t think we the lowly workers and tax payers are intelligent enough to understand there tactics, I believe there mistaken!

8 million shares sold in 2.5 months? Look at the months where Eagles sell, Nov and Dec. It normally drops in Jan/Feb.

That's nearly a 40% drop in sales for the past 4 months compared to the same time-period last year.

November 2011 was the turning point in physical silver sales. November is when silver sales fell off a cliff. December was mediocre. January was simply dealers stocking shelves with new year's coins. February was awful. March is mediocre.

The past four months combined are down 40% compared to the same time a year ago.

That doesn’t make any since to me silver and gold are not priced in the value of the DOW. There priced in USD if the value of the dollar goes up silver and gold go down and vise versa. so I’m not seeing the correlation to the 13000 mark at all other than that is where some people are putting there $$$

February silver sales were the worst drop ever on record. March is sluggish too.

November 2011 was the turning point for silver sales as sales started plummeting.

November through March, four month sales this year are down nearly 7 million ounces compared to the same time period a year ago.

PS. Januaries always have strong sales because that's when dealers stock their shelves with the new year's coins. But even January 2012 was lower than January 2011.

Put a stack of $100 bills in one hand and the same dollar amount of silver in the other and see which one gives you more satisfaction. Everyone has paper dollar bills, few have physical silver. I just love holding physical silver, how it shines and is heavy in my hands. I know I will be able to sell it and supplement my retirement when I get out of the rat race. A few pennies or dollar rise or drop doesn't dull the feeling of happiness I get from knowing that someday someone will pay me far more than I paid for it today, and it will bring them the same happiness. If silver drops like you say it's an opportunity to dollar cost average more of the precious metal (actually up, since mine is bought far lower than today's prices).
