Sarge, I think a good businessman should know his strengths and weaknesses and also be able to see those in others, then use those individuals to fulfill positions in the company.
If the picture is as others can 'deduce' ("deduce" because we don't have enough of the facts to be certain), it appears Chan has skills and talents in technology and creating companies that fill a niche in the global industrial world-which are highly-valued talents, but he may well have failed to give the talent of 'persuasion' (sales) its proper due from the beginning; at least it looks that way to some of us.
If I'm correct, this is a big fail; and we hope that promoting Abel to COO is the beginning of a turn of events and that we see a different 'face' of IGEN at critical discussions and national conferences.
'Hate' isn't part of the equation.

Not the issue-- just think the facts show that he has not done a good job the past 5 years. He has taken advantage of his position and not been shareholder friendly. He/You have not added shareholder value. Former Independent Directors were not satisfied with his role. approach and actions. They both resigned.

That is why promotion and appointment of ABEL is so important. Another few more disappointing revenue less quarters after lots of paper announcements and no one here will miss Chan if he is booted. Which Board faction will succeed in putting a new independent Director on the Board?.

The most glaring oversight of this company is the complete neglect of a line of communication directly with shareholders AT ANY TIME.
I've been here over three years and have yet to experience a conference call with management,
That we have so few sales completed (given the technology executed and touted) as of this date after the 'sales' hires, conferences attended, CEA approval and GSA/VA 'preferred status' is a poor, poor showing and I lay it at the feet of Chan.

Dilutions over... 10q is in 2 weeks...sp has bottomed out around 0017 for the past couple weeks...volume is picking up...abel promotion/board chatter... chart appears to be moving upwards...

I've added 1.1m so far but wouldn't mind getting more before december...

It is easy for them to check the history of certain claims here like patent promotions, claims of account sign ups ,claims of “Chan market makers “ and even the possibility that a poster is a company employee as the posts and posters are here going back quite a while. The staff is quite diligent and responsive.

$IGEN 1M: The 10MA is beginning to curl up; but, my big 'tell' is the smooth diagonal upper left to lower bottom on VOLUME. It's been quite reliable as a change in trend indicator (Works the reverse, too. Look at MNGG, as it hit a high of .0011 from 0000. P.S. TTM Squeeze works similarly on its Histogram.)
