I am actually not a bleeding heart. I am actually more of a libertarian, which is what republicans used to be, and believe in LESS governement, constitutional rights, and separation of church and state. I think Ron Paul has a lot of it nailed.
1. Bush is becoming a dictator. He is invading the rights of US citizens.
2. A woman has the right to choice, regardless of the religious right wing fanatics, and she has the right to own a firearm to protect her right to choice.
3. The patriot act should be called the fascist act.
4. We have a serious illegal alien problem, and should protect our own borders before spending billions "protecting" foreign nations. However, the government has NO RIGHT UNDER THE CONSTITUTION to tell the Holy Catholic Church that it is forbidden by law to extend aid to an individual until they show proof of citizenship. Am I the only one who saw that? GOD BLESS Cardinal Roger Mahoney for telling the Archdiocese of SoCal to IGNORE THAT LAW AT RISK OF BEING IMPRISONED as the Church extends help and aid and refuge to those in need on a spiritual basis, not a political one. And yes, I'm Catholic, despite my "bleeding heart liberal" view on Abortion.
5. We have one Earth. Protect it, and especially the oceans. Without them, we die.
It's that simple.
