re: More likely more of the "Intel's in trouble, so better kill AMD, too" mentality going on. AMD earnings and share gains should put that idea to rest.
Not to disagree with you, but I remember thinking that same thing a few years ago (3 or so?) after Intel's quarterly earnings but before AMD released theirs, only to watch AMD release horrible numbers (possibly a last-minute warning?) and of course the subsequent clobbering of the stock price. IIRC this was around the start of the big downward slide.
This time is certainly different if only because of the mention of share loss in Intel's latest guidance, but still...
