#4439 RE: Elmer Phud #4434

EP--

Why is it that anytime anyone suggests Intel may be acting unethically or unfairly, it must be a conspiracy theory?

Do you not believe the data in front of your own eyes?

You can see how more than one "independent" benchmark has "evolved" to show the P4 in an artificially good light, at the expense of the integrity of the tests themselves-- that is, how closely they reflect real-life usage scenarios.

Illegal, unethical, or merely unfair, the upshot is that a number of benchmarks are no longer very objective. So when you have a site like Tom's using them to claim AMD's marketing is fraudulent, you need to take it with a grain of salt.

Is the 3200+ an aggressive rating? Yes, I think it is. Another 100 MHz in the core clock would have been better. But it isn't as bad as Tom's would have you believe.

As for your being an AMD investor, that may well be, but your loyalty to Intel, often at the expense of a balanced perspective, is manifest in the entire history of your postings here and at SI. That said, you're better than most of the Intel fans posting around here.
