My suspicion is that Sousa tried to slip JB a Mickey and JB told him where to go. One of the games the big boys like to play is dangle big money in front of a new company like a poisoned steak that inhumane creeps throw to a noisy dog that bothers them.
JBI has disruptive tech - it bothers a LOT of powerful people and those people will oppose it with everything they can throw at it... we've seen it happen.
