I think it far more plausible that it could be the other way around. Maybe a foreign source infiltrated these groups and the military could have been planning a mutiny/false flag. Lots of people don't like Obama's foreign policy and want more action. These dismissed officers could have themselves staged a false flag to get us into war with, take your pick, Syria, Iran, Russia.
Notice how many people are calling Obama "weak", well a surprise disruption to the country would make him "act" the way a lot of people want him to act but so far he hasn't. He has disappointed the warmongers.
All is speculation.
