If it were one store, I would be inclined to believe you. It is not. Store managers are bullied by Supervisors and told NOT to forecast sales that inflate labor. Managers can NOT create shifts that are needed but the Scorecard does not recognize. It is commonplace in 24 hour stores that NO CASHIERS are scheduled after 10PM except one body who gets assigned to self checkout, then has to run to the cigarette aisle when a customer needs tobacco.
I LIKE Walmart. I am not a basher. But, Houston, we have a problem. You cannot run a retail store with no cashiers. Period. End of story.
And the "Price Match" deal is a scam, from my personal experience. That's my opinion, and I am not making any phone calls, just ignoring the hyperbole and bogus PR that supports another, stupid promotion that is all fluff, no stuff. It's like the family-friendly "work at Walgreens for flexible schedules" rubbish of a few years ago that was ignominiously replaced by Scorecard where, unless Walmart owns you 24/7 at their pleasure, your hours get hacked and you get split or 4 hour shifts as punishment for having kids in a nursery school.
