What a joke, but give them credit for thinking way ahead... She has been part of the company, but saying she hasn't because it was a subsidirary, or outside of mangement. I clearly remember her being at GM for 25 plus years.. Now she can say I didnt know about this or that. I was not part of this or that... But we as a company are really sorry and will do an internal investigation... Find a fault, not the people that said (lets not worry about it now) (well deal with it later, etc.) In a few months or a year you will hear some lame excuse..
They can even use her as the scape goat, she was probably set up for the job knowing this was her role, they offered her a boat load including walking away with 10s of Millions of dollars, and a gizzilion shares, they will put the guy in her place they wanted anyway... Pay out a couple hundred million to 25 families, shake off the news companies, and move on damage control at its best...
