I guess some people have been burned too many times by companies that have purchased a wide body jet, painted it in company specific livery, tricked the Department of Transportation into awarding them routes, tricked the Federal Aviation Administration into advancing them through certification, and managed to get another successful airline to join in on the scam by drafting contracts with them. Having terminal space at a prominent New York airport is a red flag. The leased terminal space and maintenance / fuel contracts in St. Petersburg are a dead giveaway that this company has no intention of ever commencing revenue operations. We all know that the DOT and FAA are notorious for acting as co-conspirators in big fraud cases.
