I believe we're in the ballpark. The orrigional contract with Fugitsu 10 was for 4000 units and yeilded us just under 1M. That included NRE fees, manufacturing and our profits. The 800k letter of credit covered the manufacturing and profits part of the contract. Meaning 800k / 4000 units yeilds a cost basis to Fugitsu 10 of $200/unit. With that kind of cost basis Fugitsu 10 and dealers can make a handsome profit selling it at $500/unit. Works for me! Larry
I still believe that its a big mistake not to make the portable component of this in dash system a fully independent player. IMO people want to have to be able to have something like an Odyssey 1000 that they can just drop into their car's dock.
