Hope this clears it up for you:

"Hi Lorraine,

Can you explain to me whether or not anyone using UltraFlix will only be able to view 4k content as is indicated at the website: http://ultraflix.com/uflix.pdf ?

I put up a post at Ihub about this (see link immediately above) and received some conflicting answers (see below).
Please advise!"

"OK...Sorry!
There are some people who think they will be able to watch UltraFlix content in HD and/or SD if their bandwidth will not support 4K and/or if their TV is not a 4K television.
They think they'll still be able to watch content on their 1080P or 720P televisions.
They believe they'll be able to order content and watch it using the Nuvola NP-1 in something other than 4K and I was trying to find out whether or not that is true.
If a persons bandwidth is sufficient to support 4K content but they don't have a 4K TV will they still be able to watch the content on their 1080P Televisions using the Nuvola NP-1?"

"Actually, I do understand the differences.

My question is this:

Will a person who has a Nuvola NP-1 hooked up to a 1080P Television be able to stream content from UltraFlix?

I know that the Nuvola NP-1 will allow the streaming of content from other content providers like NetFlix, HULU, etc. in 1080P format, etc. but I don't know whether when accessing the content on the UltraFlix "channel" using the Nuvola NP-1 whether it will allow the content to be viewed on a 1080P television."

I don't understand your question. UltraFlix is 4k only

"Your are confusing the NP-1 and UltraFlix. They are separate products. The NP-1 works with any HD TV and can work with 720 and 1080"

"I have tried explained to you but I am not sure how else to state it, UltraFlix is designed to be 4K only. If you hook an NP-1 to a 1080p television you cannot view UltraFlix VOD content because UltraFlix requires 4K. UltraFlix will check to verify you are connecting it to a 4K output stream. Many of UltraFlix movies are licensed for 4K only, and not for other resolutions. You can view some of our free content in non-4K, but all of the VOD content is 4K only due to license agreements. This is not a technical issue, it is a licensing issue."

"OK...Now I'm sure of what is meant.
UltraFlix is "EXCLUSIVELY" 4K content due to licensing agreements.
Unless someone has a 4K Television they will not be able to watch any UltraFlix content using any media player including the Nuvola NP-1."
