Melatonin is very well tolerated, but melanocortin, even though a derivative is a small molecule hormone that imparts communication with the nervous system,like Flibaserin, melanotide was tried first for tanning, it's also a non specific agonist, which can stimulate unintended results like high blood pressure, or like the way it increased tanning but also made participants more horny. My point is that melanocortin derivatives could be promising, but the FDA is being really tough on these FSD drugs. Maybe the EU is more promising, but even if they get past the EMA, the question is will women use an injection in blockbuster numbers.
Femprox is a rub on and works non-systemically in 5 minutes, not 30-60 minutes like BMT, we'll see when the trials are finished and approvals come in, in a couple years. It is certainly an interesting drug BMT.
