#8198 RE: micham2012 #8197

Believe it or not the Chinese government is actually heavily invested in Africa's infrastructure. They desperately desperately need resources and raw materials that are in Africa and for that reason alone I believe this contract goes through. I wouldn't be surprised if because of this contract a relationship between AMMX and the Chinese government will yield more infrastructure projects in Africa. Even better for the Chinese if it's their own trucks they're using for the extractions of those raw materials. I have no sources for this information other than a college class I took a few years ago from a professor who specializes in African economics and politics. But the gist of Chinese involvement in Africa centers around raw materials and China is continuing to invest heavily there as they'll soon exhaust many of their own resources in Chinese territory. This one contract could be the beginning of a succession of other investments into Niger over the next couple of years.

This along with the Western Africa (called the Sahel region) farming project is very promising. I wouldn't be surprised if the Sahel project is also backed by the Chinese government. The Chinese also need food resources.
