That "down converter" is different outfit. But, if I remember right, the NP-1 can be used for just a req HD box as well....(think it reads the tv its plugged in to, and puts out the best res)
NummyNums...My understanding of UltraFlix is that it is "exclusively" 4K and will only play on 4K TV's. If I remember correctly, a signal is sent to determine if the end point is capable of playing the 4K content and if it isn't, no content will begin. imo
