Understanding the difference between non-recyclable plastic waste and recyclable plastic that has a market is basic and rudimentary. It has been discussed for years. One does not "clean-up" Ag film and have it suddenly become a recyclable commodity like plastic coke bottles.

Pre-processing for JBI's machines often simply means shredding to a size that will allow the beast to swallow it. Municipal and private company MRFs sort incoming plastic all day long... by the truckload and tonnage every hour.

I agree any of this can be dealt with by sorting, cleaning (to make the plastic cleaner but not clean), and preprocessing by something like the MRF. The question becomes by the time you sort, clean, and preprocess the plastic, do you end up with recyclable plastic and if not does it become so expensive that it no longer makes sense to either run the machine (this is what JBI has proved emphatically so far, hence the change in business direction) or makes it very difficult to sell a machine with beneficial terms.

Very difficult to sell the flagship processor with beneficial terms?

The CEO has said they are negotiating with more than one company, but yes it will be very enlightening to see the terms of any sale.

Why would any third party even be interested in purchasing a JBI processor if the company is really just a scam?

Here's another question: why would a seasoned CFO with stellar credentials join JBI to replace a 20-something guy who has never completed or filed a 10K in his career? Nothing against Nick but I believe he wasn't quite up to the increasingly challenging duties required.

I don't know about any of that bullshit, but there was a mythical false claim that because one single source with caked-on dirt was too dirty to use that means JBII requires "clean" plastic.

I was only addressing that load of bullshit. It's not true. JBII doesn't require clean plastic.

buenokite,

Just a wild a.. idea, but what if the first non-JBI run processors where installed somewhere with lots of waste plastic and an abundance of dirt cheap labor. If the labor to handle (sorting/cleaning) plastic was cheap enough the feed stock and operator costs could be greatly reduced while the product/fuel value would most likely be little changed.

I'm not saying this will happen or promoting it but, there parts of the world where manual labor is all but free by our standards. Perhaps a processor or two that created jobs, reduced the quantity of trash piling up and generated a common use fuel without contributing to air pollution while during so might be a win, win, win event.

I still hope/expect P2O to be a success in the USA but it may be easier to run production facilities elsewhere first while more ducks are put in a row.

All idle speculation on my part.
