I know the difference between short interest and short sellers lol. I know when I see a MM short selling a stock. I encourage you to take a look at lvl 2 and see what I see. I see known short selling market makers playing the ask really aggressively. The mm CHDN was very sly by disguising a 10,000 ask, even though millions of shares were bought, it never passed and 10,000 remained on the ask. 10,000 x 1.10 on 3/18 around noon when the stock fell from its high of 1.3 and it's most heavily shorted day. NITE as been playing the ask the last couple of days.
