Payback, or ROI, or NPV is always based on all cash flows (Revenues and Costs or CGS), not just Revenues...

Where did the 48 tons/day come from? JBI themselves have not been able to accomplish this.
At an uptime of 83%(10/12 days) that equates to an average of 3287 lbs/hr average, every hr, every day, all year long. Is JBI even at half of that?

Any idea what the estimated total cost of $138/ton($31/barrel) includes?
