Vans, if this is correct, "It is commonly accepted scientific knowledge that bleach will remove DNA" Then I would imagine it's unreadable, lets face it if it's removed it's not there. As far as I know the government contracts aren't for cotton, so I would imagine some sort of coating is added to the DNA on chips etc to protect it.
