I agree with you AG. A confusing PR. If this was already being used for 5 years, why all the noise about the Supina deal, now.

Also, in the recent deals with Supina and Dawson, they talk of marking and then authenticating.

Anyways, I hope the market sees it as a positive. None of their PRs ever make an impact as they should.

I have always had my doubts about using vegetable DNA to mark clothing .

Here is a little evidence that came up during the Amanda Knox trial.

There is a 1992 article in Biotechniques which shows that a 10% dilution of bleach damages DNA within one minute [3]. Also, bleach is used to decontaminate (i.e. remove DNA where it’s not desired) [2]. It is commonly accepted scientific knowledge that bleach will remove DNA;
