Pffdr, It appears you must have misread or misinterpreted the BHRT post you have replied to. A correct reading indicates that it is my view the RETAIL investors are on the OPPOSITE side of BHRT's SHORT INSTITUTIONAL investors (aka, in your words; “Asher, Gray and about a half dozen other well known "finance houses of last resort" on the street”). I never in any way considered I might even be close to implying any retail investors were taking part in shorting BHRT. Please let me know what words or phrases I used that confused you, so I can attempt to avoid creating similar confusion in the future.
Whatever name such as “broker/dealers” you may care to apply to those that are CREATING or MAKING THE MARKET for BHRT shares to trade in, is not very significant to the general over all concept I had presented. The fact these “broker/dealers” as you term them, in most cases are mostly compensated based primarily on the overall total volume of trades they successfully execute each day (regardless of what the issue’s ticker is), in many cases often leads to an incentive for keeping their biggest market players (aka; “Asher, Gray and about a half dozen other well known "finance houses of last resort" on the street”) happy. Thus I have used the only 300 year old and very common term “crony” to describe what I believe to be an accurate description of a relationship as I see it.
