Notaclueyet. I think it is more like 18 years. As noted elsewhere, "By Nov. 12, 1996, products that "embodied all of the asserted claims of the Patents-in-Suit " were in public use for at least a year". That means that the patents are entirely invalid, up until the date of correction in 2013. So the new hope is for 2013 settlement onward.
Still a nice chunk of change b/c the market is massive, but a $5 outcome is nearly impossible now. May $1-$1.50 at most? I think a settlement is also more likely, since the number is now smaller, Activision may just settle and be done with this mess.
