I suppose Conoil is interested in some sort of solution and not total breakdown of the JDZ. If the agreement between the two countries breaks down Conoil would have no rights I suppose.

Meridian, given that Conoil is beholden to Obesanjo for getting any part of the deal at all, it would seem to be self-destructive for them to cause the embarrassment of Nigeria in this way. How could they think it possible to hold Obesanjo's feet to fire like this? Isn't Conoil risking being disqualified and their award being given to the consortium?
