You're right, it's strange, people are in it for the long haul, but they want insane gains. Maybe it's to feel proud?

Though it is nice to see something you're invested and believe in succeed, regardless of the money you might make.

A lot of us were. On that last dip to .0014 I ended up basically increased my position by a third as I bought a nice amount at .0020. That buy was also on faith as well and at this point it seems to be one of the best things I have ever done. I only see this getting better for anyone willing to hold. Oh and I have yet to ever sale a share!
