This is very good. As you can tell I am not good with the financial statistics stuff. I will incorporate into a new ss version.

I was thinking more about how to handle the 50% gain one year, (-25%) the next and saying the average was 25% when it really is 0. Would this calc be better?

Avg(2*(negative returns), (positive returns)) ?

I used the RATE[ ] function to do the same thing.

Where you got 10.96%, I got 11.06% - close enough.

So the performance numbers I have look like this:

'--------------------- System__NDX
86-95 avg ----> 32.05%__15.88%
96-05 avg ----> 49.74%__11.06%
20 yr avg -----> 38.25%__13.45%


This is starting to look more realistic, but still very cool.
